I'm truly sick of this argument. For one, not everyone in the stadium can actually hear the band. Us in the nosebleed decks can barely hear it, so it's nice to actually hear some music every once in a while. I'm also sick of hearing about LSU has to be so different from everyone else. What is it with that??? Since the Big East Teams wear helmets and cleats why not let's go barefoot and wear camoflague and replace TGBFTL with a cajun or zydeco band and everyone bring a friggin' accordian with them to the stadium! That would different, no?

Sure our band is awesome and better than any other band on the face of this good Earth, but a little Hells Bells is ok by me.

Hells Bells is older than dirt. How in the world did you not know this? I guess I could cut you some slack if you just moved to the US like 6 months ago.

I grew up an AC/DC fan. I think they are flattered sports teams from all over the US find their music iconic.

here's my take on this: The Golden Band from Tigerland is great no doubt, i love hearing them and when i have sat in the upper deck i have been able to hear them clearly. I think that at times some music from the pa system is okay. Here's why i say that, every once in a while the band needs a little break, i don't know if many realize that it takes a lot to play those instruments. I'm not sayin we just completely stop havin the band play, but what i'm sayin is even the band needs a little break. I'm sure some of u will just start ripping me bout this but i don't care.

Fine...except that's NOT when the PA has been playing it. They were piping in music this year leading up to kickoffs...TRYING to pump the crowd up like it was some sad soccer game. In fact, at least once this past home slate the PA actually played OVER TGBFTL. This is some stupid idea by some wank in the PR department that thinks it's swell how other venues he's been to play music...and dammit if LSU doesn't need to do that, too!

You know when I'd be ok to play music over the PA? Towards the end of the half as the band is making it's way down to the field and is unable to. At that point, there could be someone appointed BY the band that gets to play First Down, Second Down, Third Down, and Chinese Bandits when the game play warrants it. That way, it would be just like the band is still in the stands playing when they are expected to.

And provided it doesn't interfere with what the band traditionally plays during pregame warmups, they can pipe in whatever the hell they want before the game starts. Other than that, what's wrong with a couple of minutes of NO music? Does every second in the stadium need to be filled with either TGBFTL or some track from ESPN's Jock Jams?

Oh...and whoever suggested that it was cool to drown out Ole Miss' band...what are you, 7? If LSU plans on playing music over the visiting team's band, then they ought to tell them to not bring them along. How fricking bush league is it to have a visiting team's band there only to make it impossible to hear them? You don't like hearing Ole Miss' band play songs after they do something good? Take it up with the football team and ask them to prevent OM from doing good things.

I've been going to Tiger Stadium since I was 6 years old. You want to challenge whether I have an heart and soul for LSU, you name the time and the place and I'll teach you about my G.D. tradition! All I'm saying and to all you stupid arse Tradition Freaks that when Charlie McClendon was the head Coach there wasn't an "Eye" in the middle of the field. The "Eye" came from the movie "Rocky III" and the song on the soundtrack by the group "Survivor". Years later the "Eye" appeared, and it was awesome. It disappeared for a while but then it came back. Point is, y'all can yell tradition all day long but at some point the times change, and people change. Now as far the piped, pipped, pimped, canned, pre-recorded, or otherwise of the rendition by AC/DC's "Hells Bells", I don't care whether it's played or not, really, I don't. But it is nice to be able to hear something every once in a while. Lastly, and then I swear by all that is Holy that I will shut up, I love TGBFTL, and if you little sawed-off piece of excriment under my boot wants to challenge my heart or call me an idiot because I don't agree with you, then say when or shut the f**k up!!!

Ummm......

I'm thinking peolpe are afraid to respond to that.

I would just want to say, I appreciate tradition. I get goosebumps many times from hearring and watching TGBFTL. I do like a little "Hells Bells" from time to time.

I would ask the tradition minded what there take on the band/students singing "living on a prayer is"? Not much tradition there, but I lke it too.

I vote in favor of the "PIMPED" in music, at times. The BAND still RULZ though!

It's alright every now and then.

Side Note: I saw AC/DC last Sunday in Houston. It was primo. Angus Young still owns as usual. He and Brian Johnson have shite ton of energy for older dudes.
