I certainly wouldn't be against A&M losing to Florida on Tuesday.

Also not sure if it was mentioned but Southern won the SWAC Tournament. So if we do host, decent chance they end up here.

If we host and Southern is seeded4 , who do we start? Don’t want to waste your top arms.

Another positive is that you don’t have to be a #1 seed in the Regional to be a host.

Unless things have changed, they’re have been #2 seeds that have hosted a Regional. And everyone on the committee should be well aware of who LSU is historically.

Yep, exactly. Great point. The committee also takes into account how much revenue each potential host site is capable of generating and guarantees. They also use that to make their decisions between hosts.

That’s what I was trying to say. Attendance is very important.

They have kind of backed off revenue being the driving factor

I looked it up the other day. The last time a #2 seed hosted was 2010.

Obviously tv people opinions only mean so much, but Delucci just said that if LSU beats SC they will host. I think most of us figured that but that’s just one example of an outside source saying it

I think Oregon St. is a lock, so there are 4 remaining spots.

LSU
Miami
UNC
Texas AM

These are in the best position to take the final 4 spots IMO. I think Ole Miss could unseat either LSU or Texas AM if they have a deeper tourney run though.

ETA: NC State, not UNC.

Would it be better if LSU was not a host and let's say you get sent to Ga Tech as a 2 seed, you might get a better super regional matchup closer to home.

If LSU is a host as the 16th #1 seed, you get the home regional but you might get paired up with the #1 overall seed in UCLA.

LSU on the west coast does not seem like a good road to try and get to Omaha.

Oregon State and UNC are two more locks.

It isn't just the numbers, it is also the money and location. They would much rather host a regional at a place that will fill up the stadium and make the NCAA the most money.

The bubble teams are always losers when it comes to this in the NCAA tourney

LSU does not need to go on the road to try and win a regional.

They need to be able to play the 4 and try and save pitching at home.
