Lol. Gotta justify paying his brother a frick ton of money somehow I suppose

You nailed it. Same for Kevin Smith with “Associate HC”

Interesting that we have 3 coaches on defense that are DE specialists. By God we better lead the nation in sacks next year.

Joe Dicks is our future OC when Weis flies onto bigger things

Sterling Lucas - DL
Lou Spanos - Asst DL/Pass Rush specialist

So, if Dylan Stewart follows Lucas to LSU, he'll be coached by Spanos? I thought Lucas was the EDGE guru?

Pretty much the entire defensive staff. The entire offensive staff is from Ole Miss though

Spanos will not be primary coach.

Not with linebackers. I mean it’s 100% just a reason to pay him more money. You don’t hire a person with the exact same titles as someone you already have.

Awful look.

I guess we are in to announcing analysts now days

Definitely feels weird and a bit undermining for guys like Baker/Peoples

Don’t think they care since they’re getting paid more. Most of the analysts were always attached to different position groups, now teams are announcing them.

Maybe

Or you could have a situation like the 2023 team where the offense is humming and the defense is trash

All Baker’s fault? Easy to kick to the side for his brother to be promoted as the cure?

Or what if they’re good and Baker gets a HC gig, does that mean Lil’ Kiff steals the clout and gets elevated?

Not a fan of nepotism. It’s one thing to allow Kenzel to ride the bench, but this is on another level of awkwardness

I don’t see how this is awkward. It’s a title. Everyone knows Baker is the DC.

Titles cost money and come with pressures and expectations all around

Like Charlie Weiss becoming the highest paid OC despite the reason for hiring the HC was because he was the offensive genius

I guess if Lane wins it’s all good. Or else we’ll be looking back at things like this saying “why did we allow Lane to hire his brother as Co-DC?” or “why did we ever allow Lane to pay his pressbox eyes more than any OC in the country?”

I just like shite built right from the foundation

No one said you did. See how that works?

Looks like it’s just Lucas and Houston. So much for no one getting on the plane.

Especially when he only has 2 total years of experience at those positions. I get it, he’s helping out his brother. But you don’t have to pretend it’s something that it’s not. I’d love to hear reasoning for how I’m wrong.

You might be right and you might be wrong, but you have no clue what Chris Kiffin knows or what he can teach or how much he’s truly worth

With no limit for on field coaches any more (only limit on how many can recruit off campus), there is no need for “analysts”. Give them titles and list them as part of the staff.

So you’re happy with the hire but your first remark is about somehow justifying paying Chris a lot of money?

Interesting
