For bowls that pay less than $1.5 million per team, each school gets $840,000 off the top. The remainder goes to the conference.

For bowls with total payouts in the range of $1.5 million to $4 million, each school gets $1.04 million off the top
quote:
The balance of the $3 million Cotton Bowl payout goes to the conference, which then splits the money up evenly among all 12 schools. The SEC itself also gets a cut equal to the amount each school receives. For bowls with payouts exceeding $6 million (i.e. the BCS games), each participating school gets $1.74 million. The balance goes to the conference, which takes its share and then splits the money up evenly among the remaining conference teams.

This rivalry has been dead for far too long. Bring your $400k, and let's resume this thing
that will never happen...you know it, I know it...TAMU would gladly give LSU $400k to join the SEC...if they could ever stop being UT's bitch.....

I can't wait to watch LSU come into this one under Hat's direction and overconfidence, and lose by 20. Gig'em!!
Really? When is the last time LSU got beat by Twenty?

At least we didn't get "conned" and get sent to the "politically Correct" bowl in Tempe.

Home team alternates between conferences each year & is irrelevant to the participating teams.

Try Florida in 2008 for starters. Any fan who takes this team lightly is a moron.

Truthfully, playing TexAM in the Cotton is kind of a letdown for me. I was really excited about teh Sugar.

Yeah, well we should've beat Arky. I'm bummed about not going to the SEC flagship bowl too.

quote:Of course I watch the Cotton with great interest because it's LSU, but SEC vs Big 10 Co-Champ on New Years Day sounds abit more interestng from a pure college football fan's perspective.
The upside to the Cap One is playing Michigan St., but playing at 11 AM on Jan. 1 won't garner much more national appeal than the Cotton stading alone on Jan. 7th.
