Tcu and notre dame have bigger gripes than lsu. How the actual frick was florida or georgia southern chosen over notre dame?

It’s funny how little this fan base knows about baseball. GSU absolutely deserved a regional, the one all you know it alls should be pissed about is fricking ECU

literally all GSU did to deserve a regional host was have a top 10 rpi. but if you go look at how they did against Q1 teams they had the worst Q1 record of any top 25 rpi

It is fricking meaningless. The committee is just nuts. How are you going to put that much weight into a tournament that has rain delays and teams playing after midnight and sometimes multiple games a day on short rest?

We finished top 4 in the Sec that’s all that should matter. The tournament should just get a Cinderella team an autobid if they run the table.

John Cohen is on the committee. It means that LSU has to have an ironclad, no holes resume. Otherwise we get fricked. Other teams can have worse holes in their resume, but we get fricked.

Which impressed you more, their 2-7 record against the SEC and ACC or the fact they won neither the conference regular season nor tournament?

Notre Dame is a real head scratcher. In every case, RPI trumped every consideration if a team was at least 16-14 against conference opponents. The top 4 SEC teams in the RPI at 16-14 or better are hosts. The top 2 in the RPI in the Big 12 are hosts. Yet, somehow ND was passed over as a host by not just 6 teams below them in RPI, but also 2 ACC teams below them in the RPI.
As to TCU, although they did have the best regular season record in the Big 12, Oklahoma ended up with the best overall conference record and the top 5 were really tightly bunched. Out of conference, they went 1-5 against Kentucky and Florida St and had no quality series wins. They also had 5 midweek losses and lost 5 weekend series. Overall, they had only 8 weekend Q1 wins. That’s really not a host resume.

20 and 20 seem to be key numbers. Top 20 RPI and fewer than 20 losses. LSU failed at both. Sounds like Florida stole our spot by beating A&M and making it to the CG.

It’s much simpler than that. They took 16 of the 17 highest ranked teams in the RPI (at the time before Oklahoma-Texas finished) with conference records of 16-14 or better. Notre Dame was the lone exception.
