9-5 would be a great record for LSU this season when you consider where the program stood one year ago. But for a normal season 9-5 is a strange combination of good season and bad season.

9 wins is close to 10 wins and what is considered a good season.

5 losses has an 8-5 connotation and is normally considered a poor season.

You don't see many 9-5s. South Carolina in 2010 is the last SEC team to go 9-5.

LSU will avoid 9-5 and purgatory with a win over Purdue on Monday.

I think the game is going to be super close

ST is trash - Purdue could run a fake every ST play and convert

Daniels not throwing over the middle or deep probably as well

Purdue is a sound team

That running back of theirs is going to give our DL 10 different kinds of hell. We aren't gonna be ready for him.

At least I think it's a him.

1999 Texas went 9-5.

1999 Texas lost their last three games:

aTm
Nebraska in the B12 title
Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl

Wouldn't be a good look for Kelly or the program.

I think our offense should be fine unless JD rolls out another 80 yard passing clunker. Defense though is missing some key components and short on depth. Hope House has a good game plan and we come out fired up or it will be a dog fight.

Purdue's record would be even stranger if they don't win IMO. A division champion that finishes 8-6.

And had Carl Reese as their DC. This is a very large oddity as well...I thought 1999 was still when all teams played 11 regular season games. Did they option to play a 12th? Hence, the Big 12 title was 13 and the bowl was 14?

Didn't UCLA win their division at 6-6, lose the title game and bowl and finish 6-8?
