There ain’t no way a 2-loss LSU is jumping USC. The media wouldn’t allow it.

Edit: am in fact a moron, disregard

To not have this post be completely useless, I agree with your rankings. But in my opinion, if USC wins Saturday, they’ll jump us. Especially if we don’t completely dismantle UAB.

Check out last week's ranking; LSU is 7, USC is 8.

USC could very well lose to ND/UCLA and or in the Championship game, that is a very real possibility they we I’ll hv 2 loses as well.

UCLA losing at home this week to Arizona hurts the potential win impact of next week's game for USC. I think voters see our two top 10 wins vs. Bama and Ole Miss as more significant. But I am not worried, I think Notre Dame will give them their 2nd loss if UCLA doesn't. The key for us is to just stay focused and keep winning. Everything else will take care of itself.

I wouldn’t be surprised if USC jumps us. The committee has shown a poor showing might cause you a few spots.

This won’t be a popular post and I’ll get downvoted for this, but if LSU wins out, USC wins out, so does TCU, Tenn as well, and say Michigan….say what you want but that is not an ideal scenario for LSU to be in. You would have Georgia and Michigan (or Ohio State) as locks. Then a pool of TCU, Tenn, LSU, and USC for the final two spots. I honestly don’t think they would leave out an undefeated TCU. So that leaves 3 teams vying for one spot. Man that’s a tough scenario I don’t want LSU in….we are all blind if we don’t think the media would try to put pressure on the committee to have USC in the playoffs over LSU or Tenn. honestly, we need TCU and USC to lose a game and I’ll feel much better….but first LSU has to win out for any of this to matter! Hey it’s fun to be even in the conversations at this point in time!

LSU will stay at 7. USC will move to 6. USC dominated a bad team and LSU barely got by a mediocre Arky with a 3rd string QB.

This puts me in mind of a classic movie scene.

Bottom line is the CFP committee doesn't want a 2 loss LSU team in the CFP, but they may not have a choice because they can't put UGA in the playoffs and leave out the team that beat them and won the SEC. And if LSU wins out there is no way the Vols get in and we have 3 SEC teams.

LSU winning out is the CFB doomsday scenario and it would be great to see the melt across the CFB world.

You do remember a couple of years back when PSU beat OSU in championship and they took OSU and left a 2 loss B10 champ in PSU on the outside looking in, right?

Why does it seem like we're always the system buster in college football?

We fricked up the BCS system when we made the Sugar bowl as a 3-loss team in 2002. We fricked up the polls in 2003 when we split the national championship Coaches and AP poll with USC. Then we fricked up the BCS again in 2007 by backdooring our way in after a series of unlikely losses by other teams. And now we have the potentialities of this season and a 2-loss SEC champion LSU over higher ranked 1-loss teams.

You're welcome for the entertainment, college football fans.

This article states USC was not impressive either, the power ranking here has USC at 7. But agree anything could happen. My guess is that the AP Poll will put USC higher but that the CFP keeps LSU above USC.
ESPN College Football Power Ranking has LSU @ 6

Everyone likes this example, but Auburn in 2017 had 2 losses and was #2 in the playoffs before losing to UGA in the SEC championship game. Auburn was in with 2 losses if they beat UGA.
