This is quickly getting away from LSU. Lots of missed opportunities.

Well, the women weren’t considered the shoo-in the men are, but they were the number one ranked team going into this.

Another case of Shaver’s loaded/favored teams fading on the big stage. He really needs to snap the streak with the men’s team.

Once last try by UGA to clear before LSU wins the pole vault.

The ladies MUST qualify on the 4x400 as USC does not compete in that event. So far, USC has 10 sprinters in the finals to LSUs 5. The 4x400 would give LSU 6. Not sure if we still even have a realistic shot.

USC is DEEP in the 400 and have the 2nd fastest 4x400 relay time in the country this is year.

Gunnarsson is a national champion and still not satisfied, she's going for more heights. I love it

McDonald, who was peaking in 800, was tripped in her race and unable to catch back to the pack. Tough to stomach getting knocked out of contention by an obvious trip.

Oops, my bad. I looked at the 4x400 start list, and did not see USC. But you are correct, they are in heat two, while LSU runs in heat 3.

Are we really going to have to watch 20 women run around in a circle for 30 frickin minutes? I would literally rather watch reruns of Go Auto commercials!

I wouldn't call it "peaking" when her best race of the season was regionals and she took off the first two and a half months of track season. It's upsetting to know what she could've done had she given a damn earlier on.

Oregons decathlete just finished 8th. That's a big net for LSU's men.

Perhaps before taking a shot at the young lady, you should educate yourself as to what she was dealing with off the track during that period of time which isn't pleasant for any athlete. To come back and PR at regionals, which ranked her fifth in school history, was quite a feat, a display of courage and a show of her true potential in the event she had an outside chance of placing in before getting tripped up.

She hasn't jumped the Olympics Standard this year. She's not jumping to please anyone and this was probably her last chance to do it.
