Without a QB commit for the incoming class, this is a safe bet. LSU needs a QB capable of beating out Harris and Jennings. The random is this discussion is: What if Jennings transfers? Then what?

Calling it here rite now in this thread. Someone bookmark it. Trevor Knight will be a top 5 QB in the NFL one day. You herd it here folks!

Saints pick him up to be The QB in waiting.

Ok, LONGSHOT, but if it happens, i called it.

The fact than you can't properly spell right or heard negates your entire opinion

Sounds more like Knight is making a strong push for LSU.

Would be a much bigger deal or ray of hope if LSU had a better track record of adapting the system/playcalling to the skills of the players running it. Without that, I don't get the point of it all.

If you can't teach a QB in 3yrs, how do you expect one to jump in and play right away.

You still have Etling and MacMillan. I think either one is fully capable. For coaches that are happy with their QB's play and progression they sure are looking hard at JC's and transfers.

What's McKnight's situation? I could see taking him if he's sitting a year and the staff thinks Harris may leave after next season (tee hee!). If he's a grad student next season with one year left, it makes no sense with Etling and McMillan having a year ahead of him in thr system. We need another young qb to develop, not to start immediately.

Think grad, he would be a depth pick up in case Jennings does decide to leave.

You have to be prepared for guys to get hurt and not have it ruin your season. If the guy you bring in for depth challenges your starter then that's icing on the cake.

If he's only here for one year, how will he be able to learn and execute Cam's offense? Doesn't it usually take more than one year? But I guess if Mettenberger was able to get it in his first year with Cam, maybe another transfer can.

Jennings will be transferring that is the way many people have felt, personally from seeing how he interacted with people on campus and teammates, I think it is a forgone conclusion.

So we do need depth. Do I believe anybody but Harris starts game 1, no.

Anybody that wants to play for the Tigers is welcome!

Come on down man and compete. Competition makes everyone better.

If they had any confidence in BH they wouldn't be pursuing all of these qb transfers. Like it or not that's the way it is
Um. What?

Why do we keep going gaga over quarterbacks that couldn't play elsewhere and want to transfer. Are they expected to improve dramatically and suddenly become stars. Miles and Cam need to get off their collective a$$#s and recruit/develop a competent quarterback out of HS or JUCO. That has been their definitive failure. Yes, Alabama did a great job with their FSU transfer, but they have a reputation and ability to develop QB's. LSU doesn't. We keep signing supposedly highly ranked QB's who can't seem to figure the system out. They need to either teach Harris or go get someone that they can.
