I am immensely proud of the way our players left it all on the field last night, even in a losing effort against a superior opponent. I'm not proud of much of our fan base, who show no moral character or team pride. You are an insult to the great, great tradition that is LSU football.

the real joke is Less Miles. his goofiness is getting old. we don't need a comedian, we need a head coach...

You summed it up perfectly. I don't like to see them lose, but I really don't care about last night's loss.

Like another poster said, the fanfest pep rally was dead. The players were flat and had a no-care vibe at it. The fans obviously didn't care either. I bought tix from LSU for $90 each thinking I was gonna be able to go but couldn't make it in the end. I sold them for $40! Took a bath on it, and have never had anything like that come close to happening in my life following this team. The stadium looked like there were hundreds of flat out empty seats. It was a bad bad game filled with an unmotivated LSU team and coaching staff. To say that the golden age is over or that we are doomed for mediocrity is foolish. The sec put the screws to LSU and they responded in kind-by not caring.

Guess they really didn't care about NC game last year.

They just did address Coach Miles! They gave him a raise and a very lenghty contract extension !
You think they are going to get tough with him now? Coach Miles would laugh in their faces, and Kathy would beat them up .. . maybe even Smacker.

What a load of BS from an obvious fair weather fan. LSU deserves better than you and anyone else with this ridiculous outlook.
Hey man, don't frick with my fandom. I'm realistic. I'm a lifelong fan, season ticket holder for generations. I'm an alum who still gives to not only Taf but to the University in general. I've even been to the Peach 3 times in the last decade and I was sick of it just like the team, just like the coaches, and just like the fans. LSU mailed it in because of an sec screw job against a historically bland opponent. Deal with it.

Exactly. Like somebody else said --this was just an exhibition game. Coach Miles was wise to treat it as such.
This cheap bowl game meant as much to LSU football as did that Steak Eating Contest, WHICH WE WON, by the way. Nega Tigers forget this fact.
You are really nuts.
Our season record is now 10-3 (adding a loss)
We have won NOTHING this year (SECWest, BCS or bowl).
We embarrassed ourselves and the SEC by losing to an ACC team.
We have lost prestige in the national CFB community and the press.
Dropped our final ranking.
Dropped our preseason 2013 ranking ( more than likely)
Exhibition game. Hardly

If you are that stupid then please tell me why you accept that bid to embarrass yourself on national TV?
You go to the bowl game to have a nice little vacation and field trip and to do things like visit the Coca Cola Museum and DOMINATE the Steak-Eating Contest.
It's a reward for the kids.
If you want to see pro football, watch the NFL. These kids are only amateur student-athletes playing a kid's game and trying to have some fun, just like the rest of us.

Wow. Your expectations for LSU football are quite unrealistic.
Some of our fans are very spoiled.

Let me see. I guess we should not expect:
1) to play better in game #13 than in #1?
2) to see improvement in skills during the course of the season?
3) to have players in shape to play a full 60 minutes in the last game of the year instead of cramping up and leaving the field?
4) for players to know their assignments and not look confused during the game?
5) for our $4MM/ year coach to understand and execute clock management in a way that aids our team in winning instead of making us a laughingstock?
6) for a top-rated QB to be able to put air under the ball for the occasional deep route receiver to run under and score a touchdown?
7) for an OC to realize that EVERYONE can determine our play selection mentality by our player personnel grouping and formation?
8) for a coach who makes $350,000 PER MONTH to know when it's time to hire a top quality OC and leave him the hell alone so he can produce an offense that is better than 85th in the nation?
Should I go on?
Sorry, these are not the expectations of a " spoiled" fan base but instead one that pays for and desires excellence. So STFU!

Just like the coaches, just like the fans - these players didn't get fired up for this bull shite bowl.
B.S., the defense played like wild men until they started to cramp up in the 2nd. half.

So basically what were saying if we don't beat bama, just call it a season?
Isn't that the attitude that most of the fans on this board have assumed?
I think Clemson was underestimated. Boyd and Hopkins frustrated the defense all night and LSU just didn't have an answer to them. And the offense was just ... offensive.

LSU lost last night because they didn't care about the game

I heard this same excuse for the Bama loss, saying we didn't think it was fair to have to play Bama again so we weren't as fired up, but if we can't get fired up for a National Audience on New Years Eve we'll never be able to.
Sure it wasn't a BCS bowl but it was the best one last night and the only one on and we'd be getting serious press this morning and last night over it.
I'm not buying it.

Not really ... if LSU wins, they were supposed to win (after all, it was just an SEC team). LSU had something to gain, particularly with respect to next year's pre-season ranking, but to think we would be getting "serious" press after beating Clemson is ridiculous.
