Anyone with any sense knows that LSU leaving the SEC would be bad for the SEC, bad for LSU and bad for college football. It’s now a pride thing between Sankey and whoever actually is calling the shots at LSU.

The presidents of the other SEC universities are a collection of very smart people. While collectively they probably do think that LSU, Kiffin and Wade are pushing the envelope on the eligibility of pro athletes and want to show solidarity with their commissioner, they are also collectively are smart enough to know kicking LSU out is lose/lose for everyone. Smart guys will find a way for cooler heads to prevail.

I do not have any inside information. I’m just making the observation that kicking LSU out of the SEC is a lose situation for everyone and thats obvious. Sure there might be a president or 2 who have it out for LSU, but most know how dumb that would be.

Someone, or group of people, are going to step in and find the off ramp to let things cool off before it goes nuclear. I dont want out of the SEC. LSU has a rich history of many sec rivalry’s against other SEC schools across may sports. I dont want to lose that. I do not think the SEC presidents want to lose that either, much less lose the revenue and prestige LSU gives the SEC. LSU actually getting voted out of the SEC seems highly unlikely.

One potential player are the networks who bought the sec tv rights. The networks may easily demand refunds from the SEC if they lose the rights to LSU, one of the biggest brands in sports, and the rights to cover Kiffin, probably the most talked about Coach in college football. I could even see Saban wheighing in and having some influence.

Completely agree

It simply does not make logical sense

This will cost those schools revenue and the conference will be tied up in litigation over $

No one wants that

I wouldn't want LSU in any other conference either particularly the B10. I can't think of a worse more polar opposite conference just cultural. I want nothing to do with the B10 but if LSU does leave, SEC brought this on themselves and whatever LSU burns down on their way out.

The only conference that makes sense is the B10 financially and I don't want us in that conference because it would be an awful experience. I do not want to travel to Northern schools or want anything to do with the culture up there.

It would be almost career suicide for Sankey to even consider the vote without actually having them. If I had to guess, the vote will in fact happen, but be contingent upon a list of grovel demands.

Honestly it could be great for LSU since there would be a bidding war between the other conferences over who gets us. The SEC can only lose. They kind of already have with this embarrassing display.

I think the SEC Presidents are going to vote to expel LSU. Not a wise move financially for the SEC but I don’t think that is going to stop them. LSU then files suit against the SEC and individually against Sanky and each President of each member institution. it is going to get ugly with hundreds of millions of dollars on the line.

I don’t want to be in this conference anymore. We aren’t wanted here. The cabal is stacked against us. They rattled their sabers and we responded with so many “byes” that now they don’t know what to do.

I wish the vote was today. There’s too much time for the conference to crawfish, much to our detriment.

A bidding war with the Big 10 involved? No.
The Big 10 looks at itself this way. You ask the Big 10 for membership, the Big 10 doesn't need you unless you have a really big market like LA or NYC, today. Maybe 10-15 years ago and the Nebraska thing, it was different.

I just don’t see what grounds they even have to warrant this. I don’t trust them to be logical.

Uh, not true anymore

Conference expansion is now about eyeballs and ratings, not geographic footprint.

LSU brings top 10 eyeballs, even more so now with kiffin

Why would LSU want to stay in the SEC?!

The favoritism and political horse shite isn’t worth it. LSU will continue to own Louisiana recruiting which will keep them competitive in every sport for forever.

- Go to the Big 12 or ACC and make plenty of money as the undisputed top dog with an easier path to the playoff.

- Go to the Big 10 and join the best conference in sports currently making more than they’re currently making.

- Go independent and get an exclusive media rights deal and waltz into the playoff every year while splitting none of the playoff profits.

All sound better than staying in this good ole boy league of pussies.

TLDR

Ole Miss
Tennessee
Bama
Texas
A&M
Georgia
Florida
Auburn
Oklahoma

^all of these teams either hate Kiffin and/or want an easier path to the SEC championship & playoffs.

You only need one other team to vote us out.
Skankey wouldn’t call for this vote if he didn’t know he had the votes already

While I agree and can’t imagine being away from the sec and the teams and rivalry and history I grew up with my dad and grandparents but…

frick em. They want us out then bye. They have threatened and made so much bs for us since the 90s it’s targeted it’s rules applied to some and not to all, they targeted us I hope the last time.

I do not want to go to the big10 I do not know what the answer is but I will cheer on lsu no matter what conference they are in I just don’t think it should be the SEC anymore if they vote a 2/3rds expulsion and then say but we won’t follow through if you do this or that… frick no. Vote us out and be done with it, hammer them in court win the games this year, figure it out next year and start looking and weighing options and possibly making our own conference
