Manny Diaz - not biting. Goal #1 is to stop the running game and make us do what we said we were gonna do.

Like I said, they are gonna press and load the box. Gonna have to get off some good passes early to back em off.

Interesting tactic against our stable of horses back there, huh....

I don't think they are loading the box. There is no fricking way on earth they let LSU and Joe Burrow torch them when its literally been the only offensive story-line this off-season.

Jimbo Fisher aint walkin through that door this year to call plays and coach QB's. Not shitting on Ensminger, but he is def an unknown.

That's all it's been, a storyline thus far.

Teams out there aren't going to believe that LSU can throw it well until LSU throws it well. They aren't going to load up to stop the pass out of the goodness of their hearts.

Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth, that saying could go for both sides of the equation. We'll see who punches first.

No Buster Davis in Flynn’s only year of starting and Crowton was the OC.

I thought the problem was he was so known from his 40 yrs in coaching that he couldn’t be good.

I think we should actually try to establish the run early on. They're a relatively undersized defensive front; let's see if they can actually stop the run.

If we can establish the run that makes the RPOs and play actions passes all the more effective.

Why not. Unproven QB and WR's, nowhere near the explosiveness and depth we've had at RB in years past. Make LSU prove they can throw the ball.

No getting around the fact that we have to run the ball effectively.

Even good passing attacks can be stifled if the run game is ineffective.

This makes the most sense. Why throw it if you don't have to? Of course we may have to, but I'd we are winning on the ground why change?

But it's just a story line, Burrow and the offense haven't proved they can torch anyone yet. I'm sure Miami will make LSU prove they can throw the ball first.

Im sure you are right but Jimbo was LSU's OC when we beat Miami in 2005. Im pretty sure thats the game that the Flynn to Buster Davis comment was in reference to.

New QB and in experienced OL playing a smaller/faster D line.

Move the pocket (boots and roll out). Three step drops. Run some quick traps, draws and screens. That should be the early game plan. Give Burrow easy reads and throws to get him started. Same with the line. Don’t put them in a position to have to execute third and long over and over.

Scrimmage stats coupled with average backs

It’s a reason the plan going into the season is to get the ball to the WRs
