They have converted just 7 of 27 3rd downs

On the other end of the spectrum, Ohio State leads the country by converting 72.4% of their 3rd downs, (21 of 29)

Good thing we have Auburn this week so we can work out the kinks.

The most telling stats to me of an offensive coordinator's scheme/playcalling competence are 1. 3rd down; 2. red zone touchdown percentage

Yes! Sharpen up that passing game this week before we get into the hard part of the schedule

I would Love to research this closer but my guess would be down & distance is killing LSU. 3rd and long seems to be the norm in the first 2 games. Penalties and a lack of a running game is putting the offense in predictable passing situations. The injuries at TE and horrid pass blocking are killing this team. I’m just preparing myself to enjoying watching the defense and holding my breath watching the offense. 3rd and longs, forget about it.

Great. We now have our brand spanking brew QB woefully under prepared for his first SEC start. On the road.

Brilliant strategy.

But the coaches are from here and talk like us. This is what what a lot of you wanted and now this is what we are getting.
