ETA: You need depth in the office just like you need depth on the field too. To be caught with your pants down on Jan 11th as recruiting is in the home stretch sucks. At least if Coach A leaves, there is a QC analyst that can be promoted, even temporarily, to that spot who understands and can speak to a recruit about what we run.

Interesting point. Having these guys that can put together bios on recruits to make sure we have every angle covered is a great strategy. That can be the difference in closing on a recruit and just having a hat on the table.

I'm not convinced this was the case

me either. now, O might be building a bigger support staff, but Les had some analysts and guys on the periphery. maybe Alleva wasn't too big on hiring additional guys and has loosened up on that. or maybe we're replacing some guys who have moved on and the announcements of their hirings are a "thing" more than their predecessors.

Coupled with the weird aversion to having players around who didn't play for him I think it had to affect us.

who didn't Les like having around? again, is it O is more inviting whereas Les didn't really invite guys around at all, or was Les blocking them. Les hired Raymond as a GA, then coach. and a guy like Ro has been around throwing to players at their pro day.

WR Coach as defensive analyst

Good stuff

WR Coach for one year. He already has experience coaching with Chavis and Aranda at LSU. You might want to read more than headlines.

A Bama friend once made a point about the ROI for shadow staff to me and I'll paraphrase as best I can.

Seasons can often come down to a single play in a single game. If a shadow staff analyst watching game film noticed one tendency of an opponent that no one else noticed, and you capitalize on that tendency to win a game with a big play - whether a sack, play action long TD pass, etc. - the team will be in a better bowl game and have more prime time TV slots.

Thus, that single play alone provides a good ROI for the entire shadow staff for an entire year.

Same can be said for a single recruit. IF a staff member does tons of preparation for the staff to more effectively recruit a player and that player makes one play that changes a game, that provides a solid ROI for the shadow staff.

This hurts to read.

There is no auto-correct that capitalizes the first letter of every word. Do you think this is how the English language is written?

He was hired away from LSU to Princeton in 2015.

Aranda came to LSU in 2016.

It took a long tedious search, but with hard work and a lot of luck I was fortunate enough to find the information in an amazingly bizarre place - THIS THREAD !!!

I'll tell you like we - the grownups - tell the five year olds at family gatherings - "Look with your eyes and not your mouth."

I hate being on Tiger Ree's side.

I hate it so much.

But you're wrong. He's been at LSU twice.
