Eddie Kennison in the Independence Bowl is one of my favorite childhood LSU memories. The Independence Bowl was a huge deal at that point in LSU history.

Felt like the Super Bowl

Eddie and his buddies sat behind me at the cotton bowl in 2002 against Texas. He was a great guy and I believe he was still in the NFL at that point. Glad he's back at LSU.

Love the Kennison hire. Now we need to hire a former player from NE Louisiana. This state will soon be on lockdown. O knows exactly what he’s doing.

This gets old. You made a statement, not a question. The question mark is completely incorrect. The question mark means you're not even sure if you thought he was dead, so you're questioning whether you even thought that.

Also, "dominate" and "dominant" are confused often,as are "lineman" and "linemen" or "frreshmen" and "freshman." They're really easy, folks. Just give it a try.

Great hire. His punt return against Miss. St. was one of my all time favorites. Paul Dietzel used to say that during Billy Cannon's run he went from yelling "No Billy no" to "Go Billy go". I was yelling the same thing to Kennison that night.

I was there and saying the same thing.

This is what I think of when Eddie is mentioned too. I was a student then, and I think the section student section had the same feelings as you.

Great hire and a great Tiger. BUT, the truth is he was committed to Florida St very early. He came to LSU after Bobby Bowden called and forgot his last name..if my aged memory is correct. Thanks Bobby!

Was the Indy Bowl ever that big of a deal, other than being the best available at the time?
