Well looks like they decided. I can’t be mad at the program for wanting to disassociate. Was was a good coach, but I get it. No doubt we’ve got some dark basketball days ahead.

Without allegations being proven. Not a fan of this move. No chance we get a good coach now.

I hope it bites Woodward in the arse.

He has lost a life long supporter of LSU basketball.

He is a top tier recruiter but not a top tier coach no big loss in my opinion.

I hope we do not have to “settle” like we did after Dale Brown. Scholarship restrictions after Brown had us hire John Brady because nobody else would come.

The dept is pretty darn incompetent. Been that way for many years.

I got a feeling Wade is not going to be coaching anywhere in the near future. The NCAA will ensure he is t snatched up this cycle. The current penalty structure is heavy on show cause penalties that will in essence back ball Wade from college basketball for 1-3 years. A school like Clemson has too many skeletons in their ADs closet to be willing to have the added scrutiny of hiring a coach with a pending sho cause punishment coming down the pipe.

I wonder if he is a viable candidate for the NBA.

To me this signals the NOA is worse than people want to admit and they are sacrificing Wade, who they don’t want anyways, and basketball in general for the sake of the rest of the AD.

Yeah, and those programs dwindled for awhile and those coaches are now coaching UK and auburn respectively and doing fine and no one seems to give two shits about what those coaches past violations were(or their association with those violations). Just saying.

This report is damming. Wade might get hit with a 10 yr show cause. Holy shite.

No doubt it's damning, but firing him at this moment could be construed as an admission. Trying to figure out the wisdom in that timing.

Someone posted a tweet just a bit ago.

It's pretty damning. I can see why lsu is letting Wade ago. At the same time, I just think of all the other coaches who had similar issues and go on to coach later in career and doing well. It'll suck if we don't get an adequate replacement and see a program that takes a chance on Wade in 3 years doing what Auburn etc is doing.

I wish I could say I was surprised. But I am not. Look at this:
Like has already been stated
1. Backdoor deal to protect football
2. Woodward does not like Young and Upcoming Coaches
-He didn't want Tennessee's Vitello in Baseball,
-Kiffin wasn't even on his list
3. He likes coaches as old as he
4. Please name a coach that Woodward has hired that has come close to holding up a meaningful trophy after he hired him.

I think we need to drop the historical context of both penalties and if programs rebounded from them. The NCAA has an entire new penalty matrix and NIL has radically changed the viability of recruiting and dealing with the repercussions of NCAA penalties.

I am not say this is a good or a bad thing, but historical comparisons of this are lacking so much context with how the how era is now approached that they are most likely going to provide a poor reflection of what may come.
