I just hope Cain returns. It's much cooler on those hot summer nights along the third base line with all his windmilling.

If PM is deciding on which job, I would imagine UT has thrown the kitchen sink at him.

I think he got to where most people expected at the beginning of the season: Super but not Omaha. But he got there in a completely roundabout way. Pitching sucked at the beginning. First the starters then the bullpen. Then the streak happened which was mostly due to the pitching. At the end, we had two games where we couldn't put both together.

Here is my take and I will get slammed. You can't compare me to these coaches. They make a hell of a lot more money. No I am not an OT baller. Paul and Les are the same. Not big names guys but did well at other schools and wouldn't turn LSU down. Success almost immediately then faltered off only to come all the way back then epic fail. I think that is why I don't care either way if they stay or go. I think LSU has the players to do better. They just are not coached well when it comes to fundamentals and I think that is the common theme when teams beat us both in baseball and football. Coastal Carolina, Stony Brook, Houston, etc. Yes, Bama has owned us in football but they are the best. But look at the losses to Arkansas and Ole Miss. They are not exactly setting the world on fire. We should be better.

, but he had 2 top flight SEC caliber pitchers
Right, but remember, Lange and Poche struggled out of the gates and we had people asking for Valek on Friday's (which was laughable).

I don't care how talented you are, it's an unheard of situation in college baseball to have that much turnover in your starting lineup. And plus, at least some credit has to go to the coaching staff for developing that talent.

Next year should be as close to a dominate team as we've had since '13 but with much more depth. My expectations will be way too high.

Augie was highest paid college baseball coach last 20 years at Texas
im sure $$$ is not the problem
I bet CPM stays tho

Same... I said 2-2 in Omaha is the floor, but I will be disappointed if 2017 isn't added to the intimidator.

I've agreed with ell twice today. I don't know what's happening...but I don't like it.

You shouldn't get slammed. What you said is the absolute truth!

What did we do fundamentally wrong in this series, other than not having any speed in the outfield?

If I recall we couldn't hit or bunt. That was when Javi was still here. That was a constant problem when he was here.

Question for those who know, is PM still the highest paid coach in the SEC? The last figures I can find are from 2013.

You don't remember Tyler Hanover leading the nation in sac bunts out of the clean up spot in 2011?

There are times when you can't just offer the raise because your scared you might make a bad hire.
It's just as well CPM stays. I wouldn't trust Alleva to make that hire.

LSU baseball made PM. PM didn't make LSU

If necessary, Alleva wouldn't make that hire. Skip would.

let's see. Over achieved this year making a super regional with nearly a completely new roster. Was in a CWS last year. Texas, of all schools, comes knocking.
Lost badly in a super regional after getting embarrassed in Omaha.

What would you have done, out of curiosity
I would have made him prove that he was leaving instead of giving him more of other people's money to stay.
If he left I would hire someone to bring some new energy to a stale program.
