I hope we do win and are ranked in the top 15. But that ranking will only be important for a week (or really two, unless O can pull off another loss to rent a win). The fact is, what we do on the field will matter a lot more. But it doesn't mean the perception of the program as a whole isn't important and that it doesn't influence a lot of other things. Perception an change quick but O has to seize on one of the big chances this year.

I am surprised we have fallen out of the top 25 considering we play a highly ranked Miami. That game gets better ratings if both teams are ranked

Pretty sure aTm is up from their ranking last season and they're also coming off of a disappointing season. I'm not going to address the 2nd coach you listed and if you can't figure out why, I feel sorry for you.
So, let's recap. UF coming off of 4-7 is ranked 25. LSU coming off of 9-4 is ranked 26. aTm coming off of 7-6 is ranked 33.

I don't think it has much right now. Coach O has proven with the transfers, especially Burrow, that kids will come to LSU. Win 10 games this year and that perception will change.
