Everyone down voting my comment but look at Miami’s schedule from last year.

They lost the last 3 games of the season after winning the first 10 vs teams who were terrible.

Lost to a 5-7 Pitt team and got steamrolled by Clesmson and in the bowl game vs Wisconsin.

They had a good recruiting class so maybe that warrants some hype but they were overrated last year.

A few notes to those who have commented regarding the rankings:

1.) Miami is NOT over rated. They have a damn good team and return the majority of the starters from a team that was solid last year. Couple that with a 3rd year under Richt, they will be strong.

2.) Mississippi State is also NOT over rated. They've brought in a damn good offensive minded coach who will utilize Fitzgerald in ways even Mullen couldn't comprehend. They also hung 30 on us last season.

3.) Georgia and Alabama will both skull drag us at home. I'd be shocked if we netted 14 points against them.

4.) Texas A&M got a bump because of Fisher. But I wouldn't be surprised if they end up being much improved compared to the Sumlin days. This board talks a lot of shite about Fisher now, even though every one of you would'be creamed your pants 2 years ago if he ended up here, but he's still a damn good coach despite last years slide at FSU.

6.) Auburn will end up in the top 10 before we play them.

A&M above us is a joke. We're gonna stuff their turkey once again this year.

I keep seeing people just assume we're going to roll teams we've historically rolled. I'm not saying A&M is a loss for us this year, but they have made significant strides to be a much better team. Outside of Tennessee, most of the other SEC replacement coaches should put a bit of a scare in the future of what was once easy SEC wins.

Meanwhile, we're promoting the position coaches from the old regime.

Facts. O is in for a brutal season, as are we all.

This is the least excited for a football season that I have been since I can remember. Actually dreading it.

One of the better points I've seen made recently.

My boss assumes that “it’s LSU, we’ll be fine.” I have to keep reminding him that this isn’t the LSU that we’ve come to know the last 15 years.

I agree with two things:

this will be on hard season .. our schedule is brutal

the teams that we can normally assume to beat have gotten better.

Fire the old coach because he was incapable of putting a competent offense on the field, then promote his TE coach to run the entire offense. The O regime is high comedy.

The people who dropped their opinion of LSU must have watched the QB play in the spring game. Painful to watch.

I would only say that, it takes something special for a team that recruits in the top 10 to not be included in the top 25 pre-season poll. Regardless of what you think of ESPN

What that something special is...who can say?

It's a shame. We are one of the top 7 most talented teams in the country. It's insane how far an inferior coaching staff can drag you down.

Not saying we are/were as talented, but this is basically the Tennessee Volunteers for the last decade.
