No, LSU doesn’t have the athletes to match those teams, that’s what happens

UGA beats lsu and goes on to win a national title.
A&M beats LSU and doesn’t play a bowl game.

We started a wr at QB during a season where half our team left, managed to duct tape a team that somehow won the west, and had a putrid game to start the year. I'm not saying I'm not worried, but clear downward trend is comical.

Yeah they had a total roster make over. As the season goes on. Depth became a problem. Same thing will probably happen at Colorado.
