The Bunkie Middle School women's coach is "Light Years" better than what we just had.

Jones will live in infamy as the worst LSU Head Coach of all-time. (Yes, worse than Curley.....and I'm having flashbacks to the second half against Auburn).....................

This is s good hire. Young, can recruit in a tough recruiting environment, and can win. He knows how to win. The issue will be who does he bring in to coach with him and does he keep the current talent?

Wade's alma mater made a strong run at him this morning. At Summer camps in Houston he told contacts that he thought the LSU job was better.
I mean looking at it as objectively as possible, the LSU job is a way better job.

The VCU fans getting salty about Wade taking a "step down" to coach at LSU simply choose to ignore the history and tradition and can't see the potential of returning the PMAC to the deaf dome

Potentially an excellent hire, but this school HAS to give him time. This team will likely still be trash 2-3 years from now. Look at South Carolina as your model.

I think this is a good hire. I was reading the article form the Advocate and some woman left a comment that LSU was a slave state school and therefore we needed to hire a man of color. What is up with that?

Very nice hire. Maybe would have slightly, if at all, preferred Crean but can't be upset with this move at all. Young guy who does everything well. Huge upgrade from Jones. Hopefully we have some tourney appearances in our very near future!

I've been reading a few Kentucky forums and many think Wade has the chance to be the next Donovan.

They seem to be glad we hired a young and energetic coach.

Well, to be fair, it's not hard to hold a middle school girls team under 20 per game

I have met Will a few times, he managed at Clemson with one of my best friends. Really good dude, ya'll got a good one. He is the hardest worker I know...he is going to turn it around.

ETA: I'm sure it's not uncommon, but apparently dude works 80 hours a week.

Can't remember the last time the whole board became a basketball thread.
Even when Trent and Johnny were hired the board didn't seem overwhelmed.

Props to the VCUinsider guy. Actually lived up to his name.

I'll eat a big ole pile of crow on that one. I called his bluff... He was either lucky or legit

South Carolina was an entirely different rebuild, I don't think we're as far as this season looks on paper. If he can piece together some solid classes based on our recruiting base, you're going to have a competitive team
