Meh. Heisman is the most overrated award in sports. Good for Burrow, but it’s really just a popularity award.

More like 2001-2011. A great decade for LSU football. Played in 3 national championships and won 2

2011 was so dominant and blew out everyone but Bama that, after the Bama win, I thought we had the NC sealed up. No other team besides Bama could challenge us, and we knew that bc we had already beat the PAC 10 champ, Big East champ, and won the SEC.

This year I love the offense but there are at least two teams—Clemson and Ohio St—that might give LSU hell. So I’m less confident about winning the NC.

Both 2011 and 2019 are exciting to watch—2011 had a pedestrian offense but honey badger was in his glory.

2011 was the shite, never saw a team at LSU dominate like that...and then 1/9/12 happened

Your graph proved my point 14 Tds and 1 INT going into the bama game with the highest rating in the SEC - you posted proof and don't even recognize it

Lee had a qb rating around 160 at that point.

Meanwhile Jefferson plays throughout 10 games amassing a grand total of 673 yards passing (a game and a halfs worth for Burrow) and is well below Lee in every passing category

And it was OBVIOUS on the field. Jeffersons inability to learn the playbook and read the defenses handcuffed LSUs offense more and more as the season wore on creating a more FLUKEY feeling to our wins

bama could have 3 losses and they would still try to claim the national championship.

Because of Lee...Miles fricked up by benching him and not playing him in the Natty just ask T-Bob or anyone else who has talked about it....also 3 straight QB draws didn’t help

And what happened during the Alabama game?

Lee threw for 98 yards in the opener against Oregon. Burrow usually has that after 2 drives.

read the defenses

If Lee consistently read defenses so well, why did he throw so many picks over career including those 2 horrible picks against Bama off of his back foot?

This season is special. We have the most prolific QB and offense ever at LSU.

It’s an absolute joy to watch this offense dissect defenses week end and week out.

God, if we had a defense like we did in 2011, we’d be beating teams by 60 or 70 weekly.

Lee was afraid to get hit. He looked like a deer in the headlights against Bama.

Jefferson was not a good passer, but he wasn’t afraid to take a lick.

This is a pretty fair assessment of both.

The doubt of being able to score isn’t there like 2011

we were #1 in the sec in offensive tds per game
Before the seccg we had 33.6 offensive points per game. Right now we sit at 40.4.

Our best offensive month of football was November. JJ was the starter. JJ was a more productive player than Lee.

The Heisman is an incalculable recruiting tool.

Do you think O and past lsu coaches have mentioned how many Thorpe and bednarik award winners lsu has produced ?

The play calling appalls me more than the personnel. The game was still winnable headed into the 4th...and yet Miles called 13 out of 15 running plays.

I still say we'll eventually find out some real reason it was like that (other than the assumed normal Miles incompetence).

That's not true at all. LSU lit the scoreboard up in 2011. We beat every single opponent by 2+ possessions except Alabama.

Les Miles offenses at LSU give context to this team's accomplishments!
It's why you hear every commentator speak as if they are in a state of shock over what LSU is doing on offense.

I like Miles as a person but he turned the LSU offense into a heaping pile of Dog S#!T!
