He’s one of my all time favorites. He is the only person I’ve ever asked for an autograph. But no, I don’t think we should retire his number

Nothing in the ad about LSU. Just reads "Former Cinncinatti Bengals Running Back." Not purchasing because of the LSU exclusion.......

What does that mean, "retiring # jersey"?
If it is hanging a jersey then say that.
I've got an unpopular opinion, not only should numbers not be retired, they should unretire 20.
Hang his jersey, build a statue or whatever way to respect them but no more retiring jerseys. We gonna run out.

considering only 1 is “officially” retired, we now only have 99 left to use.

Single digit numbers are coveted by players and recruits. That's why you see them on both sides of the ball. They can be the difference in a top HS or star transfer coming to LSU or not. It's just the way it is.

Unfortunately money is often a big decider but not in every case. We are moving into an arms race for the best players, why not have every advantage at our disposal?
