Hawkins isnt exactly a pushover, and Hunter is a speed rusher with great athleticism, Hawk winning this matchup in this drill is expected. No knock on Hunter at all, thats just not his style

I'm not sure some of you grasp the concept of this drill.

Hunter won't be asked to stand in one location against a tackle. That's the purpose of this drill to get low and drive straight ahead without any moves. That's what the OT does, the DE gets around him by any means necessary.

And you're ignorant. Hunter gave up 70 lbs to Hawkins. Plus, as a DE you normally are using any means necessary to get around the tackle not go head to head with him.

This. The big cat drill is favorable to the OL. The DE is not allowed to use all of his techniques in this drill.

Man Hunter went head up and held his own against Hawkins. Meaning he didn't get driven all the way back.

Just on a strength vs strength, leverage vs leverage, he is really good for a guy who is only around 240.

I love the run-option with an added option to pass plays that Cam has been working on with Harris for the last couple of days.

First off this.

Somewhat disagree with this. While a DE is trying to get around an OT in passing situations, that isn't the case on running plays. If Hunter is going to be an every down DE, he needs to be able to get through an OT, not around him. That being said, the setup of the Big Cat Drill eliminates any move a speedy DE can use so he didn't have much of a chance. Hunter isn't going to bull rush an OT unless he catches them off balance.

This drill is just about exploding to the point of contact, if they allowed DE to use the swim move no OL would win.

This is correct. He is also very fricking light for a DE as he is listed at 241. I'd say at 260, he at least stands a chance in a head's up match.

Dude, its a 5 second drill. Hunter's advantage is his speed and height on the edge.

Could turn it around the other way and say Hawkins will own all D-Linemen.

Hunter or Rasco won't win many/any big cats against O lineman. They are too small. Our defensive tackles should be able to win some though. I would like to See Dillon Gordon against any of our Defensive tackles. I would also like to see LaCoutore against Alexander or Fanaika.

Jamal Adams has another hand speed. He got into Dupre's chest, centered him and drove him. I'm really impressed with this kid early on.
