Comments from BRPD where JJ is a suspect, at 20 years old...in a bar fight.

Yeah, sounds like "mature" leadership right there

He is a suspect who has had no charges brought against him as far as we know. It's a fight that took place in a bar, nothing more. It could have been self defense. It could have been JJ picking on some toothpick kid. That's all we know.

It's pretty "mature" to jump on him for that. Wait until the facts come out. As said before.. wasn't the team involved in a fight before the 2007 season? No one had a problem with that.

Um, his "friend" here said he honked his horn and was pulled out of his truck and beaten down.
No he didn't. He said his friend went to the rescue of the truck driving horn honker.

They cannot make you press charges against someone and you do not have to testify agaisnt them. Look at rape, abuse, and things of that nature. You are a fool and need to stop posting.

read my previous posts. I went into detail on this. Check CRIMINAL cases in your state and see who the petitioning party is. It is the state of La. not whoever the victim was unless it is a civil case for damages.

I also talked about in cases where there aren't witneses i.e. most rapes etc. they cannot force a victim to testify and if they need that testimony to prove a case then they no file it.

If it is a case like this where there are serveral witnesses and other's involved speaking and possible security video the state can still press charges without a victim testifying.

I work closely with LEA and the DA's office and there are several times when cases are pressed against the will of a victim (commonly domestic violence assaults) and there are cases a victim wants pressed but aren't because there isn't enough evidence.

You need to stop posting about things you don't know.

but the DA can bring charges on behalf of the State. Sorry, you are wrong.

They can't make YOU testify, but they may not need your testimony. a simple google search can clear this up for you.

Some of you people are absurd. It doesn't matter if the victim was drunk, yelled the 'n' word at them, etc etc as long as it wasn't physical. It doesn't matter why they beat him, assault is assault.

Agreed.

I'm sure Les Miles sees nothing at all positive about this development.

Did you ever go to a bar when you were in college (if you went to college)? Just cause you aren't looking for trouble doesn't mean that no one else there is also. I knew several groups that, every weekend went to tigerland looking for fights. They usually averaged once every other month that involved the football players. Whether the football players were looking for a fight or not, they still ended up in one.

if JJ's striking accuracy is similar to passing accuracy I'm confident he didn't do much damage..

If he threatened JJ he is entirely in the green area here. See, you don't know what was said. Neither do I. I don't really care either.. we'll be fine either way -- but to prematurely judge Jefferson for this is very fricking dumb.

More or less. And one report that says Jefferson is a suspect. That's pretty much the only fact so far.

im just having a hard time believing the football players did this just to do it. Its late night people have been drinking so im sure what was said wasn't something polite asking them to move.

was it right they stomped someones face in? no but i dont think the "victims" are as innocent as some think.

im still thinking this gets swept under the rug, players that mean something to the team will be punished at practice. any guys that dont might be let go
