Landry and Beckham each had a lot of receptions with both going over a 1,000 yards. Did you seem to forget about that?? And worked extensively with Mettenberger in doing so, but they had their struggles before their breakout season. If Miles had changed the offense like he did after that season, Landry and Beckham would have been a different story. So, I don't know what bullshite you're talking about??
And DeSean Smith and Colin Jeter are two different TE's you dumb frick. Haven't you been reading anything on here?? Apparently fricking not, just dripping shite from mouth like the rest.

You are saying Cooper got developed and you point to guys like Malachi as not being developed here. You completely left those guys out because it doesn't fit the, shite all over Les narrative of not developing players.
So tubo, why can Jeter catch and block, but Smith couldn't? Now, injury was part of that issue. But explain to me then why Jeter kept getting more pt over him under ensminger and o?
He's the same size, maybe an inch taller. I'm not hating on Smith, he still has room to learn and get better.

How? Explain to me how they are diff tes? Smith is bigger you dumb frick. Are you saying he's just a slow wr and not a te? Then there is your answer. He's not going to amount to shite if he can't block.

Lol, your such a lil bitch that got owned.

quote:Jeter was/is better with his hand in the dirt. He's more practiced at it. Jeter is bigger, but not significantly (2" and about 10-12 lbs). But it's not all about size.
How? Explain to me how they are diff tes?
quote:Agreed. Insignificant size difference aside, it's probably my point above of why Jeter is the better TE, he's better at blocking, which is one of the primary roles for a TE.

Chill out. Some of you act as if Desean Smith was OJ Howard when he's not even close.
shhh, people will think he was just another elite weapon thats only obstacle was not earning the confidence of Miles to utilize him.

OJ Howard like Amari Cooper got developed at Alabama all 4 seasons they were there. Each season they improved little by little until they were both complete receivers in their senior seasons
OJ HOward was great right from the beginning, his Freshman season.

You're right, man, but if you asked me who would be the better TE after their college career I would have said Smith.
you were definitely looking at it through purple and gold glasses if you really though that.

I've already made my case, all the frick you've done is harp on the kids 40 time. "Oh, he ran a 4.9, let's laugh at his arse as he doesn't stand a chance".
he stands a chance to make it in the NFL, but he is really a dark horse, a long long shot. He just went off at 50-1 odds. With his slow speed and lack of blocking ability and overall lack of athleticism is just a lot to overcome. Wish him the best of luck though, and will celebrate with you if he should overcome the odds and make the roster.

quote:See the theme... potential, didn't see him enough
Had a case of the drops early on, then was relegated to the bench so other TEs could be underutilized. Twas a shame...
Huge potential, great receiving skills,Very athletic.
He's more of a jumbo WR, although he didn't test out great athletically. There's definitely some ability there if a team wants to use him as a pure pass catcher - that's his specialty and that's why he wasn't able to shine in LSU's offense.
Actually he was much more a receiving TE than a blocking TE at LSU despite the stats.TE's block well or don't play much at LSU recently. He has some skills and worth a look!
All that being said, I don't think LSU fans are capable of telling you much about him. We barely got to see him. Hopefully he is able to create a nice path for himself in the NFL, because Les sure didn't do very much to help him get there.
The potential is there. The only TE's Miles played were blockers first so he didn't get as muc
Agree with many here, has untapped potential we THINK but didn't get to see enough of him ourselves to know what was there (and what development took place).
Then you come with your straw man setup and introduce the OJ Howard comparison all by your lonesome:
quote:
Chill out. Some of you act as if Desean Smith was OJ Howard when he's not even close.
Then, comes the knockdown:
quote:
Look again. There are posters comparing him OJ Howard and Evan Engram.
And then there's the...
quote:followed by two posters proving Ensminger used him far more than any time in his career. Which you obviously skirted around.
If he's so good like some of you insist, why didn't Ensminger use him more?
So while my stupidity may be erratic and thinly veiled yours is consistent, blatant, and obvious.
It's one thing for the world to believe you are stupid; only the fool opens his mouth and proves them right. Hence, you are a fool.

All I'm trying to say is that Desean Smith isn't a NFL tight end. Several posters have claimed he's very athletic which simply isn't true. If you can give me data that shows otherwise, I'll gladly accept it.

Les and Cam operated under the theory that (a) only throw if absolutely forced to; (b) the only pass in the playbook was a streak pattern; and (c) it was illegal to throw a pass between the hash marks. Idk why any TE worth a crap would have come here unless they were blatantly lied to.

LSU has great athletes but no pet referees , bama has more athletes partialy because of this negative board helping send some of our best to the gumps !

And Canada is basically gong to use his tes as blockers for the jet sweep.

beatbama - if your a fan of Panthers be proud, you got a good receiving prospect in the mole Greg Olsen, Don't worry about the ones on here that are negative, there usually Miles lovers that feel if they tear down the players Miles doesn't look as bad for all the unused & misused wasted talent. BE PROUD, he's from LSU and he's a good one with a lot of raw talent and better speed than timed. ( I've also read where Ron Rivera has called him for some spectacular catches )
Good call man. He made it a whole two weeks.
