I’m mad because we were lied to a year ago. This isn’t what we were told. I’m not a freaking idiot who is going to just forget that he promised to bring in the best coordinators in football. I spend some of my hard earned money on this program. Don’t treat me like a moron.

“I’m going to search for and hire the best offensive coordinator”

*turns around*

“Oh sh*t, there he is!”

100% agree with the OP - what I do not get at all is that Canada was hired under false pretenses, then fired to do what Coach O wanted to do in the first place. Coach O "did what he had to do" to get the job - bring in an external successful offensive coach - then threw him under the bus, when:

1. the Coach O approved offense led to a 21 point home deficit against Troy

2. When Canada was handed back the reins he did not produce enough of a comeback to secure a W

3. Coach O made the dreadful decision not to go for a TD that would have likely sealed a bowl win and a 10 win season

4. I understand and appreciate that it takes time to fully implement a new offensive system - it looked like it was starting to click, so I get excited about next year and potentially a little better QB play - but then Canada is fired.

Has there been any explanation to the folks who support the program about what the friction was between him and O? Someone knows the answers and no one is talking so far as I know - at least Coach O can keep his staff from leaking - a real contrast with Trump's WH sieve.

Yet now it's being spun that it's somehow our fault that we expected him to follow though on his promise.

Teflon O. Nothing sticks to him.

I am mad because Zero lied. His binders said elite assistant coaches. No offense to SE but he doesn't fit in that category at this time. He may turn out very well. Hopefully better than what we did against Fl in 2016.

Also, I am mad because Zero pissed away 1.7 million dollars to fire Canada. Someone is paying for that. That bastard should pay half of that out of his own salary.

This move makes LSU look like a bunch of idiots. I know we set the bar on that on Black Friday 2016 but we don't need to keep exceeding it.

I think O said everything right in the beginning to get everybody on board. Now he's like the average person take the easy way with no effort and he hired the OC we got. He received a nice $$ contract with a sweet buyout and is set for the rest of his life. Look at it now the last 2 offensive moves he made at the end of the day does he really care about LSU like we the fans do !!

You choose to ignore Ensminger's background. He has been an OC at 3 Major Universities and is a very respected coach. Ensminger was an OC at A&M, Clemson, and Georgia. He has tons of experience and success. He was coaching TEs at LSU because that is what he was asked to do and LSU is his alma-mater. He knows LSU inside and out and is a very good recruiter.

You are kidding yourself if you think that Ensminger couldn't have left LSU for other coaching opportunities.

The fact remains that Ensminger is the OC and all the bitching won't change it. So, the question is are you and your kind ever going to support LSU or are you just about supporting coaches?

People are going out of their way to ignore this, or they're saying it's somehow our fault for misinterpreting what he said.

My mistake, I thought he said "the best."

Don't be rational. Lol.

These idiots will bash Etling to no end but will never acknowledge that his limitations limited Ensminger. Especially, when Ensmimger was forced to take over in the 5th game of the year and do what he could with the offense that was already installed by Cam Cameron and Les Miles.

Reality is simply not something these nitwits want. Most of these malcontents are either very young or posers who aren't true LSU fans anyway. Condider the source.

People are complaining specifically because they support LSU and want them to be elite.

Everyone proclaiming themselves to be "true fans" by excusing this hiring process, or anything else Orgeron has done, are the ones that seem to be just about supporting coaches.

I've heard two hilarious defenses to this

1.) "O said that LAST YEAR! He never said he would hire the best THIS YEAR"

2.) "O was talking about Kiffin! Since that fell through that quote doesn't matter anymore!"

Both are hilariously delusional spin

The exact opposite of what LSU needs at this point.

We need to build LSU's offense around the recruiting area and kids that louisiana pumps out year after year. Other schools user power spread with less local talent than LSU could get to run it.

That is my main issue with the hire, among 45384734 other issues.
