LSU fans are NOT mad bc Steve isn't a "big name"

If you can't get a big name that's fine. Some of those guys aren't a fit and others wont move. That's understood. But go outside your friend group and bring in an up and coming forward thinking offensive mind. That's what LSU desperately needs. Oklahoma State did that with Yurchich. That's what Mike Belloti did at Oregon when he hired an OC from an FCS school. Guy named Chip Kelly, you may have heard of him.
It's a lazy and false narrative to claim oh LSU fans just need a big name.

Complete lazy hire, but what can we really expect when the head coach was a lazy hire. Narrowing a search to two candidates or none at all is really not a Search !

It's like we got rid of Les and now the same people who were here during that time period are running the show. It's the complete opposite of how you change the program. I don't think unproven is a word to describe O and SE. They're proven failures at the jobs they were hired into (head coach and OC). There's a reason they were position coaches working their way to retirement. They moved up and it didn't work out.
And yet, as all our competition is making real searches and moves, we're stuck on the merry-go-round of idiocy.
If they wanted unproven, they would have moved Aranda up to HC for his first time and I think we would see a program being built. What we see now is just making due with what we got and just go with it.

that's your opinion. mine is that ensminger brings some continuity to the offense. the players won't have to learn an entire new system for 2 years in a row. steve can transist to a passing attack much easier and may not have to change the nomenclature radically. our problem last year was not our system it was that Canada (for whatever reason) was very conservative in the passing game.

Ensminger did not want the job originally.
He's 60 years old and has only been an offensive coordinator for 6 or 7 years his entire career as coach (dating back to 1982).
