You don’t expect improvement with more experience & better coaches?

I live in reality. You won't convince anyone that our secondary will be good this year.

“Good” is relative. Will they be better than last year? Obviously.

We could win the SEC if they can just not be in bottom half

The size at OL is so fricking refreshing.

We're averaging 6'6" and 320 lbs.

Another thing I had not thought of : The 2nd team IOL has exactly zero snaps between the three of them. If ( Lord forbid) one of our guards go down, who do you guys think is the first guy in?

Same thing we said last year with the greatest offense and our defense almost lost us 5 games and we came out third just in the west.

Uhh no, we had people wanting to bench Jayden after Week 1. Why do you keep bringing up last year?

That starting O-line gives me a chub, but man do we lack depth.

this is the worst group of corners and safeties we've ever had.
The pass defense was certainly porous last year, but I think a large part of that was breakdowns and missed coverages. Those are all mental failures (rather than lack of ability) and a large part of that was likely the overly complicated schemes that House was using. So, I am much more optimistic about the DBs. As Baker intends to apply a more aggressive approach and apply more pressure (I think Harold Perkins is going to be turned loose), it should make things easier on them as well.

I think if we can rely on our run game a little more, that will help as well. Last season we had an awful lot of drives that didn't even take two minutes off the clock. That put the defense on the field for a long time. So fatigue was surely as issue as well. That typically means more snaps with starter on the bench and their back-ups on the field. If we can get decent play from out DTs and control the clock more on offense, I think this could be a pretty good defense. I guess we will find out.

Will be pretty disappointed if Jackson doesn’t take over the RB room this year. While Williams has stepped up multiple times when we needed him in his career, he is not an All-SEC/take over a game type back, which would be nice to have with this Oline and first year QB/OC. Plus a great run game would go a long way in helping the defense.

Man.. This has got to be one of the more veteran teams in recent memory. Only 3 projected starters that havent been there at least 3 years?!??

What's up with Center? Are we ok there with all the freshman or is it a definite question mark?

I know the WR is going to rotate in and out a bunch this season, but I really think Zavion Thomas and CJ Daniels shine this year for us.

Can we please get Whit Weeks and Harold Perkins on the field at the same time at linebacker

Whit is going to see the field a lot and there are going to be plenty of opportunities for him and Whit to be on the field together especially in obvious passing situations. They'll sub out a defensive lineman and have Whit and Penn working the middle while Perk plays on the edge.

I think that with the agility and speed of Whit Weeks and Harold Perkins, we will see a lot of 4-3 alignments with only four DBs on the field. LSU will have the luxury of playing a run package but lining up and executing a nickel defense.
