re: Montana St OT is on LSU radar?

This is absolutely true. Any FCS school from the Dakotas or Montana is not to be underestimated. NDSU damn near knocked off Colorado to open the season this year.
The pissing and moaning being done on this page is unbelievable, but you sir take the cake. I didn't think it was possible to spin landing the number 1 recruit/QB in the country as a negative but you have found a way. And yet I bet you would be the first in line to complain if he flipped.

Yes, there are complications that come with success but if you keep developing NFL QBs it won't matter as kids will continually sign up to come be developed.
So what exactly is your alternative? Pull an FSU and go all in on the portal only to follow it up the following year with 1 win? All of the top "programs" are still recruiting top 5 classes, and every coach will tell you that is still the most reliable way to build a team. But I think you already know that, so you either have no idea what you are talking about or being purposefully negative because you would rather throw a tantrum like a child, either is a bad look. :geauxtigers:
For what it’s worth, I agree with you. A lot of history to say you should have concerns about an undersized RB, and people listing exceptions to the rule doesn’t make it less of a reality. But he is definitely worth rolling the dice on.
I don’t know why this board has to hash this out every month or so.

He is an undersized RB playing against questionable competition, which is undeniably true by the way. He is also an electric athlete who has looked good in camps/7v7s who you are ecstatic to have on the team and see where he lands. Both of these things can be true. Why do we need to get buried in the details? Does it matter if he is rated the #1 RB or the #1 Athlete?
Wouldn't hold your breath, the staff loves Penn's leadership
Will be pretty disappointed if Jackson doesn’t take over the RB room this year. While Williams has stepped up multiple times when we needed him in his career, he is not an All-SEC/take over a game type back, which would be nice to have with this Oline and first year QB/OC. Plus a great run game would go a long way in helping the defense.

Certainly a disappointment fresh off an official visit, but their whole program could implode this year if the cards fall the right way. All the sudden all of the NIL money is going to buyout money. We will have to let it play out on the field.
Couldn't agree more on both fronts. Just feels a lot like the Caleb Williams situation and then everyone either shite on Nuss or overhyped Nuss just to cope with the fact of losing out on Williams.
Because at times it feels like half this site suffers from bipolar disorder.
I think its highly improbable we pull the #1 QB recruit in the nation, much less one out of Michigan. I get this is the recruiting board so we like to speculate, but we just don't land prospects like that, especially at the QB position. Every year this board convinces itself we are gunna sign some national 5-star prospect, and then everyone melts when it doesn't happen, and then we rinse and repeat a la Ricks, Harbor, Foreman, & Burch.

I will be happy to be proven wrong on this so bookmark away, but take your purple shades off for a minute every once in a while. Obviously not targeted at you Crown as you are just relaying information, which is always appreciated.
Good to see you posting again. Always appreciated your input. :geauxtigers:
Good to know. I have always wondered why Ohio State seems to have no interest in Louisiana kids. For a team that recruits nationally and is successful in hotbeds like Georgia, Florida, Texas, and Cali, they don't seem to venture into the boot often.
Interesting to see Ohio State in on a Louisiana recruit. Doesn't seem like we compete with them often for in state recruits.

Agreed. Sounds like papa's got his hand out. Not sure how trying to stir up the fanbase who has absolutely no say in recruiting would be beneficial though.
We are obviously going to be better on the Dline this year compared to last year. My question is why is Wingo not carried over to this year? Not only are we returning our best D-lineman, but you are adding what would have been our best D-lineman last year if he played. Plus there will be better depth this year.

PS- not trying to belittle what Ojulari and Gaye accomplished last year, but if we are talking about "drafting" there is a reason why they are questionable Day 2 picks.
As depressing as this post is, everyone on that list was a national champion @ LSU. And for that, we thank you.
I hope you are right, but this exact same argument applied for Walker Howard as well. They are asking Nuss to sit around until his senior season, yes I know it’s technically redshirt junior, but it will be his 4th in college. I wouldn’t blame him for transferring, we wouldn’t expect any other position to sit for that long. They convinced Brennan to do it and 1 injury during “his window” ruined his career.
Not gunna lie, after Walker, I refuse to get excited about high school QB recruits anymore. Think about the past decade, how many starting QBs for LSU were transfers? How many QBs who committed to LSU out of high school actually stuck it out through their junior year? How many transfer QBs started for Brian Kelly at Notre Dame? If these kids that grew up LSU fans won't stick anymore, I do not expect national recruits to stick around either.

Don't get me wrong, LSU will be fine and you still try to sign the best QB you can out of HS every year for depth purposes, but I believe the starting QB for LSU in '24 is currently not on the roster (Nuss will transfer in the spring). The days of kids like Myles Brennan in college football died with the transfer portal, for better or worse.
That could be interesting as they have two new coordinators this year so you would assume the hire would come from out of house. They have also collected quite the transfer portal class themselves, I wonder if the staff is still interested in Stewart from CCU.
