Say what you want but the real culprit in the loss to A&M was LSU's defense. The defense either didn't show up or got schemed of both. When your offense is having problems, the defense has to keep a lid on things.

They finally got a couple stops to start the half and gave us the chance to control the game. Then the fumble 6 happened, we went 3 and out again, and they went back to eating da poo poo

Plenty of blame to go around for this one. The defense came out of the half just fine. They held aTm to two straight 3 and outs. If LSU takes that following possession and drives for 6, Aggies very well may have packed it in. That scoop six was a back breaker.

Yep. We adjusted and started making stops. Then the offense shite the bed.

It just blew my mind that we couldn't get our DEs to stay put to seal off the cutbacks. All night long they were crashing in the direction of the Aggie linemen. Aggie RBs would simply cut against the flow and haul arse.

Give A&M some credit as they have some talented offensive players. Their offense came out and executed perfectly for a big portion of the game.

The LSU offense struggled against the A&M defense that really wasn’t playing that well. Most of LSU’s issues were unforced on offense.

House and his defense have bailed out Denbrock and his crappy offense multiple times this season. Why can't the offense do its job for once?

play of the defense was the most disappointing aspect of the game to me.

You have no clue.

To begin second half with 2 three and outs against A&M… then JD scoop and score….Never recovered from that one play.

Have you considered that not getting a stop until the second half might have been a larger issue than anything related to the offense?

271 yards rushing. During the last couple of drives, everyone and their mommas knew A&M was going to run the ball to bleed the clock and they ran still the ball at will.

It doesnt really matter what the LSU offense did, that defense wasn't going to stop them when it mattered.

Our front 7 got handled by their O line. Our backside end would suck in and get blocked down so the cutback was there all night. The defense won the Arky game though and saved JD several times this year. This was a game the offense and JD needed to step up and they didn’t.

They came out of half fine, but that was the only time the whole game that they looked decent. Achane had 215 yards, the other RB averaged 9.8 ypc on 4 carries and the true freshman QB averaged 3 ypc. You will almost never see a team win when their D gives up numbers like those. We created almost no negative plays on D.

Even with the offense's issues with Daniels holding onto the ball, the turnover and the WRs dropping passes, the D's speed to the ball and tackling were atrocious all night. And we maybe had one hard hit all night. a&m is ranked in the 100s for scoring offense and isn't even averaging 23 ppg. We scored 23 and lost by 15. It was just a surprisingly poor performance.

A couple of times, the camera focused on this 'smiling' A&M Coach. Each time the A&M coach was smiling. It might have been their D/C.

I recall that was not a good omen. It reminded me of Nebraska Coach Bob Devaney smiling after his huge Cornhusker O/L had just blown LSU's defense off the line for a short-yardage score. Believe that was during the 1971 Orange Bowl.

Bob Devaney is a legend. I could almost read his mind as he stood smiling as his Cornhuskers destroyed that LSU D/L. I figured he was smiling because he felt vindicated. Vindicated in that he recruited those massive African American Offensive and Defensive Lineman. LSU did not. I believe Nebraska Hall of Famer Rich Glover was one of those linemen in that game. I remember thinking the SEC better get with the program as far as recruiting black talent. They did.

Fast forward to this game last night. IMO during this A&M - LSU game, that coach was smiling because the Aggies were gradually taking control of the trenches. And football games are won in the trenches. Where's the beef?

I say this because during that Devaney et al era I was as impressed by the coaches as I was the players. The SEC had some great ones: Johnny Vaught, Vince Dooley, Cholly Mac and Bear Bryant. Great coaches, even greater men.

Memories. SEC is GOAT!
