He meant decent as a compliment.

Like when someone says "you sir, are a decent man."

Oh well geez i guess you are right. Everything was fantastic. He should have been fired a year or two before he was and the longer he was there, the more of a hole LSU would have been in. Our offense was a total joke. Les didnt want to evolve and the guy in Tuscaloosa doesnt sit on his laurels. We were being passed up. Love him as a person though.

he was a lovable idiot who was obsolete the day he was hired. he benefited greatly from what Saban built for him and coasted on it until Saban finished rebuilding Alabama. Alleva and the cronies who he took orders from realized this after it was too late. They should have replaced him sooner. The way they handled the situation was clumsy and amateurish from start to finish including their flippant halfassed “search” for his replacement. We are currently marking time with a placeholder as we wait for Saban to retire.

Nobody forced LSU to sign that contract
Nobody forced Les to "devote his life to the University either." It is quite obvious it was a business arrangement. Les stayed at LSU for the money and the job security. He now admits that Michigan never really offered him the job and it sounds like he would have taken it if they had. No big deal just don't make it sound like Les stayed because he loved LSU and Louisiana.

Let me explain the word “context” to you.

Imagine Saban saying the same quote of Alabama being a decent job. I think now you get it.

LSU was a national title contender every year especially at the time Michigan was calling.

Coasting would've been producing the same results with Saban's recruits, yet 2005-2007 W-L records show Miles was much more consistent winning with that talent.
