Ok, this is not the wild Wild West. There has to be some standard guidelines by which all teams have to comply. Hence the NCAA.. because teams are from many different states with many different laws. That’s why the NCAA has to set national guidelines for every team in every conference. Simple: Just comply and you can play!

See, you contradict yourself here. The NCAA does not mandate this rule, but if the rule exists at your school, it has to be enforced. Kind of stupid to not follow the rest of the conference and be destructive to your program by testing so much.

I get that it is illegal in Louisiana, but you still get in trouble if you simply test positive even if you do it where it is legal? Seems counterproductive, no?

Do you think alcohol should be illegal too?

Wouldn't bother me. I don't drink anymore. But, alcohol doesn't turn people's brain into mush.

Wire filled in nicely last year for DR. He will do a great job. Depth is the issue though.

Do you know for sure what states test and what states don’t? I’ve never seen a list. If you have such a list please post it.

WTF do you mean? I am saying that if the NCAA can't make all schools test, then none should do it on their own.

It is totally irrelevant if a State tests, but if you want to find what states have either outright legalized or decriminalized, then google is your friend.

I think it comically stupid to test college kids for weed when it is on the verge of being decriminalized across the country.

I don't think there is any valid argument for the health benefits of alcohol over marijuana, particularly over time.

100% this. CBD vs Whiskey is no comparison.

I know it does. I've seen it happen way too many times.

I've seen it happen to people over the many years that I used to do drugs. I'm not speaking to some TV stereotype.

The weed is a performance enhancer.

Look at the weight they can put on after a good bowl and a serious case of the munchies.

Can someone in the know explain what it is with the LSU compliance office and why this sort of thing keeps happening?

I know there has to more to it but it often seems like compliance is working AGAINST the football program not WITH the program.

Is LSU the only school that is that strict on testing?

I did not say anything about what states have legalized marijuana. You must be hitting it early. BTW all teams test. It’s an NCAA requirement. No matter what state you’re in. Just some teams actually have players that comply to the rules. Alabama plays by the same rules. The difference is they have Saban running their operation and we have Orgeron. Nuff said!

Pro sports don’t even test for weed lol

NFL only tests for it once a year. Mlb and nba doesn’t at all.

Legal in half the country now, suspending kids for smoking pot in college is ridiculous when the same people who made the rules and discipline the kids smoked in college

Yeah because LSU didn’t have this problem before Ed was here.

It is incredibly naive to think LSU players are somehow that much different from those at Bama.

Bama is just better at keeping their players on the team and on the field after they get caught lighting up.
