Especially one Sr. Associated AD in particular!!

I would imagine with the current climate of the LSU Athletics programs, that Bahnsen is in serious CYA mode. Otherwise, he will be the next head on the chopping block.

There is a test called the TOEFL, it is an exam for foreign students to test their understanding of the english language. It is not required at all by the NCAA. However, our compliance dept requires a certain score for athletes coming in from international countries.

If they did this for nonathletes, there would be no one left to teach engineering.

Let me explain how fricked up our compliance dept is. There is a test called the TOEFL, it is an exam for foreign students to test their understanding of the english language. It is not required at all by the NCAA. However, our compliance dept requires a certain score for athletes coming in from international countries. We are the only SEC school that does this. We lost many recruits because of this in my day.

Is this test given to all international students or only athletes? I'm genuinely curious because I've never heard of it before.

I have no idea if its given to regular students or not.

Can only say its required for foreign born athletes coming into LSU

It took a search of the first SEC school I could think of (Bama) to prove this wrong

100% Bama does not require this for their Athletes

Pretty funny you think regular student admissions and Athlete admissions are the same

You are out of your element on this one Lester, just sit it out

Like I’ve said all along.... they are not on our side

It’s the most glaring difference between us and schools like Alabama. Their “compliance department” are all in. They are apart of the cult.

He is a problem, but he is not the main problem at this point. LSU has a very bad problem of people in charge not running their departments and letting subordinate employees run amuck,(Sorry that's a Marine term for people out of control lol). Wade actually told Alleva that it was him or this Sr. Associate AD after the Kentucky BS.

Alot is required for students at LSU, but Athletes is not

LSU, for the most part, accepts the NCAA minimum standard for its athletes, and not the actual LSU admissions standard you will see on its websites.

For whatever reason, we were the only school that would not budge on the TOEFL for athletes.

I imagine that has a big impact on Tennis and T&F. Pretty fricked up.

I know first hand the tennis program (men and women) had to turn down many top recruits because of it.

Exactly. The only admission standards an athlete is held to is that of the NCAA. It is up to the school if they want to enforce higher admission standards. One of the best examples is test scores. For us regular joes, our test score is our single best composite score. For an athlete they can take individual sections and piece them together to get a qualified score. Also there is a sliding scale of GPA to test score needed. So if the athlete either picks the right electives to boost his score or attends a school that emphasizes sports over athletics this can be skewed in their favor as well.
