One of the male cheerleaders was hit by a car last night walking home on river road last night. He is in ICU at OLOL and is doing well. Please keep him in your prayers. Police have a mirror to the suburban/truck that hit him.. If anyone has any info, please let the police know.

Walking home on river road? That doesn't seem very safe. Hope they catch the guy.

I am sorry to hear he got hit and hope he has a complete recovery, but damn that was a bad choice to walk RR at 3AM?

Believed to be a grey or tan suburban or tahoe with a missing right mirror and busted headlight

He is a relative of mine, from what I understand, it was 3 am and the driver just kept going. He remembers most of the accident but is getting better! Thank God!

People need to be at least a little respectful of people walking. That being said..I'll assume it was a lot of people with a few drinks in them.

Damn this is very sad to hear. I hope he can recover and cheer again soon! I really feel for our cheerleading team this season, this is another just big emotional blow for our Tigers.

You know I don't think I've came closer to death more times in my life then when walking to my vehicle after a game. People just flat out don't give a shite and I've came close to being hit, even walking at safe distances from the road, far too many times.

Maybe, but River Rd @ 3am is NEVER a good idea. I hope this kid returns to be 100% and learns a valuable life lesson.
