On ESPN the announcers made a few mentions during the OU/USC game about how many LSU fans were there despite the team not being there. They seemed impressed by our fanbase.

Hell, LSU probably has more fans in Omaha now than they do..

We do. I came to Omaha pulling for the Frogs, but after seeing how few fans UCLA had I felt bad and rooted for them. Didn't help that TCU fans are similar to ULL followers. Amazing that UCLA's win over Florida was their first CWS victory!

they didnt play any of these teams in regional or super regional play. what the frick are you talking about?

I think he means in general. Like even if they have a pretty good year, they will most likely be matched up against some of those teams in either a regional or more recently, super regionals.

Have you seen UCLA's ball park??? It is hard to recruit kids to come to a ballpark that looks like a little league park....

Agreed. Their pitching is sick...you'd think they would have a stronger following.

They are a big time basketball school. I would love to see their football program improve and give USC a run for their money. Hate Lane Kiffin.

I think it's great that we have such good fans, but it's kind of pathetic at this point that we continue to rip UCLA for their fans/stadium, etc., espescially since we finished third in their region. It is kind of reminding me how we would tell the Ohio State people to frick off when they talked about how many people they brought to New Orleans.

I would think so this would be the case, seeing that the vast majority of the nation isn't interested in college baseball. Not a flame, I'm proud every time the tigers make it to Omaha, but fans of most schools really just don't care about the CWS.

I'm sorry...I was looking for the "Insecure Fans Try to Make Losing to UCLA Justified" Thread...I'll search elsewhere, but could have sworn...

I think the location of their campus and talent base in the state make up for their stadium.

Dodgers usually sell a lot of tickets - but many of them show up in the second inning and leave in teh 7th inning

Dodgers and attendance has never been an issue.

Or is the fans leaving just a football thing?

Fans leaving early is a distinction held solely by the football fans. And there is a huge distinction between football only fans and the fans of baseball. You can tell the difference.
