If you know anything about Stringer, you'd know that he alone makes this team much much better. I could see situations where Stringer plays some SG and Ross-Miller plays the point. Stringer lacks height, but with his range, strength and quickness he can get away with playing some SG

We might not need him to move to SG depending on if Dotson plays like we thought he would.. And if Bo Spencer comes back after Fall semester then he would be more of a candidate to play SG IMO

Realistically, How good are we really gonna be next year?

are we talking elite eight/sweet sixteen caliber or one of the last at larges?

are we gonna be able to compete for the overall championship (SEC)?

he can get reinstated I think, and will prob play, much to the dismay of our fanbase

Hope Spencer is getting his stuff together for his future's sake, and on his BB game.
Here's something for him or anybody who's interested.
Somehow he's got to observe and leave off the stuff that don't work, especially at the top of the key.Like driving to his left, leave that to Kobe Bryant, with his size, jumping, hang time and finishing ability.
And when BS is playing the 2 , play it, and stop taking the point guard role- anyway.
The only GUARDED move HE should do on the (goals)right side, is on the outside- a left hand 2 or 3 dribble ,and step back for the right handed outside shot.
The money for a shooting guard is outside (on the goals left side) at a 45 degree angle, to the key(with a man guarding closely). Because when you dribble toward the key on that angle Guarded closely, and stop (your feet are already in shooting position), therefore giving the shooter the edge to get a deceptive uncontested, shot off. I seen Bo,do this once and made the shot but never seen him do it again, probably he doesn't realize why it worked. He should try to do both above at about 4 times a game each for easy points.

PG - CBass
SG - Dotson
SF - Darenbecker
PF - Harris
C - White

I think Bo Spencer gets his things together and rejoins the team after the fall semester is out (mid-december) and works in time off the bench.

I also think you see alot more time than most expect from CBass. We will have other scorers this year so someone who doesn't give the ball up and has good passing skills will be good for this team. Stringer will come off the bench for him and get almost equal playing time, but I see Bass in at first for some conservative minutes.

I see Storm being a GOOD backup but he wasn't productive against quality opponents last year. Unless he learns some post moves besides turn around and shoot in the defenders face he will stay cold in conference play.

NIT would be a success in my book. 6-8 SEC wins tops. If Malcolm White turns into a Brandon Bass type force, then my thinking will change.

I'm still not sold on Malcolm White as a star. I know he is solid and will definitely help us a lot, but it seems as if some are expecting him to be like Bass or Davis, which is way off base IMO.

As much as I would like for TJ to rid this team of Spencer, I'm not sure it's the best decision for the team. We need a scorer.

PG - Stringer (scorer, but he's an undersized true freshman)
-Bass (not a scorer)

SG - Dotson (didn't show much of an offensive game last year)
-Ralston Turner (hopefully he can step in and score a lot)

SF - Harris (showed some good offensive moves and a good shot last year, but I don't expect him to score more than 12-13 points/game)
-Derenbecker - Hopefully he'll have a better transition than Ludwig. Hard putting too much faith in a true freshman going from Class 1A in LA to the SEC

PF - Warren (averaged 11.8ppg last year, I expect him to improve some)
-Eddie Ludwig

C - White (averaged 7.2 pts at Ole Miss)
-Garrett Green (no offense)

While I expect this team to be much improved from last year, I'm still not expecting more than 7-8 wins at most in the SEC. I like what TJ has done with the roster, but I think we're 1-2 years away still.

Judging by what ive been hearing about the pick up games, Stringer has been the best guard on the court, I think TJ will go with starting Stringer at pg and live with the freshman mistakes because we know stringer will at least be a scoring threat if not a dependable scorer
PG STRINGER
SG D-BECKER
SF HARRIS
PF STORM
C WHITE

naw dude. i love the kid to death, hell i went to his frickin party at insomnia, but he's strugglin. he's not even on scholarship anymore.

I think Ross-Miller and Stringer play more minutes than him. I would have loved for C-Bass to just throw a shot up from right across half court one day and drain it just to keep defenses honest. they know he's never going to pull the trigger

I just like the fact that we are going to be young, versatile, and deep. Now it will probably take TJ a while to find a starting group and I'm sure we'll see a ton of changes early in the season, but this team is going to be fun and I really believe that there is a slight chance of making the tourney. And the prospects for the 2012 season is ridiculous.

I still am on the Dotson bandwagon. He was coming off an injury and still played significant minutes. Just based on Storm's improvement, I think Dotson could be very good for us.

Storm needs to stay out of foul trouble. That was his biggest problem. he's pretty good with his back to the basket which we need desperately from anyone.

D-Becker goes about 6'6 6'7 And Harris is around 6'8 I figured with that type of length they would at least be able alter and contest alot of shots

Yea but Derenbecker is slow as molasses and anytime he is close enough to contest a shot probably means he is close enough for a 2 or 3 to blow by him.

I don't see any putting up more than 10 ppg, except possibly Stringer. I hope/expect him to put up around 12 ppg and 3-4 apg.

Ross-Miller will probably have a role similar to Bass' last year. Back-up PG, with not a lot of scoring opportunities.

I'll be happy if Derenbecker or Turner put up 7 ppg as bench players.

I think they can all become very effective players, but I don't see any stepping in and being major forces in the SEC.
