Mwani is 4/10 because he has great shot selection. He doesn't force threes, when he shoots he is open. I wish some others on our roster would develop that patience.

Just to be clear, days has been bad the last 3 games. The rest of the team has been bad all season.

Just to be clear - Mwani and Murray have not been bad all year - just have not shot a lot. Murray needs to shoot more and he will. Mwani is good taking maybe 1 or 2 wide open looks a game which he does and is shooting 40%.

Pinson and Gaines have been bad all year to your point because they are taking bad shots - hopefully we can fix that. Any dribble 3 or step back 3 is a bad shot for them.

Again...as I said this team will never be great, but the aren't as bad as the over-reaction Re: the last 3 games makes it out.

That team had good 3pt shooters. Naz Reid & Days both shot well in conference. Waters was hot & cold but showed enough to be respected

The team shot 32% from three in SEC play. In fact, after 1.15.19 there were only 2 occasions the rest of the season where LSU shot above 35% from 3 in a game.

Now it is true that Reid and Days both shot better in SEC play than the non-conf slate. Early in the season Naz took a lot of bad three's. Once his shot selection improved so did his %. For his part, Days was a true Freshman. He struggled early, but got much better as the season went along.

Who's to say that can't happen again this season? Days has been taking a lot of forced 3's after he found "fools gold" in the first 2 games. Murry is just a true freshman.

Is this group likely to be a good 3 point shooting team by the end of the year? I doubt it. But Wade was furious about the lack of ball movement which led to bad shots and no offensive rebounding opportunities. I've SEEN Wade fix the offense during the season, so I have confidence he can do it again.

That, coupled with the fact LSU is playing the best defense they've ever played under Wade, gives me confidence the concerns are fixable. Like The Boat, I'd be much more pessimistic if LSU were playing their usual bad defense. They aren't...which is allowing them to STILL bludgeon teams despite the fact they haven't been shooting the ball well and (in the last two games) turned it over like a SWAC team.

The team, outside of Days, has shot 29% from 3 on the year.

Nothing about the last 3 games Is an overreaction. This isn’t a good, or even average 3pt shooting team

And I just don’t think they have the supplemental scoring to totally rely on the way they have been playing. Especially considering the completion has just overmatched. Not trying to down play the effort & length: but man it’s about to get a lot different.

Should test your defensive priority thesis. Care to predict the SEC record for me?

Of course it's an overreaction - this team is still defining roles - it's been 8 games. I would submit to you that for the rest of the season the team outside Days will be shooting over 29% and while I agree we'll never be a great shooting team we'll be better than we were and for the reasons I submitted.

My points exactly. Lot of new pieces on this team - 8 games in - roles being defined now. Will this team ever be a great shooting team - no.

But to think these 8 games and in particular the last 3 defines them is what I am submitting as overreaction.

Murray is a good shooter, they are starting to incorporate that more into the offense and I submit you will see that come to fruition as it did with Days later on in his freshman season. Plus he'll get more playing time than Days did.

Pinson and Gaines need to be convinced to prune their bad shot selection and as you indicate with Naz that is not unprecedented that this can occur. 10 toes to the rim, open catch and shoot 3's only.

And I actually think Eason is a decent 3-pt. shooter - I think by the end of the year you will see his percentages climb to a respectable range.

Fudge and Reid probably don't need to be shooting 3's at this point.

Ah yes. The moron’s go to move when he’s painted himself into a corner he can’t get out of. Everyone else has to give some meaningless prediction about the future that he never gives himself.

Still waiting with bated breath to hear how much better this team would be with Seneca knight. How’s he shooting this year? You did promise to keep this board updated with his progress afterall.
