They have Florida and Texas no way they won’t be if they win. At this point, keep winning and rankings will take care of themselves. Bootup!

Doesn't help that we've won the last four games by a combined 11 points, especially the last two being against teams they should've put away easy and early. I could see them being ranked next Monday if they split Florida and @Texas

Doesn’t really matter honestly. Top to bottom this year is such a crap shoot.

LSU has a pretty weird resume, so the voters are just taking a wait and see approach since there are plenty of opportunities coming up for LSU to show how good they are.

We’re barely winning right now. Which yes, they’re wins, but they’re against some not super great teams and I think voters might be hesitant to rank us yet.

Utah State is now like 3-4 in the Mountain West. And VCU is only 3-2 in the A10.
Those were our two big-time non-conference opponents we lost to, and they're underperforming.
That said, USC and East Tennessee State are both leading their conference standings, so that's good.
Get to 9-0 in the SEC, which is doable, and you'll be ranked.

Sheldon Mickles and Brian Holland are now enemies of the program. At least mickles ballot is defensible Holland has a Arkansas team we beat that just got smoked by Kentucky at 25

Eh AP poll doesn't really matter but likes it been said, if we pull off a 2-0 rank we will jump up.

I didn't expect it this week.
But if they sweep the week (BIG IF), they will be around 22 next week.....IMO.

From a PR perspective it would be nice to see LSU ranked in the AP/Coaches poll simply because that's all the casual fan ever looks at. But they are "ranked" in the top 25 in the only poll that matters. Getting a win tomorrow would be big because I think by the end of the year Florida is going to be close to the team that they were predicted to be at the beginning of the season.
There doesn't appear to be any really dominant teams this year. A 2-0 week for LSU would very likely put them in the Net top 20 (possibly even top 15 depending on how everyone else does).

Florida lost to Utah State like we did but Florida' game versus Utah State was much lower scoring. Florida lost 65-62 and we lost 80-78 (in a game LSU should have won).
The other common opponent was Ole Miss. UF beat Ole Miss 71-55 and LSU beat Ole Miss 80-76. But Tyree did not play for Ole Miss against UF and did play against LSU and scored 36 points.

This is because Wade has not put together a Top 25 team.
No one wants to admit it, but Wade is the weak link among the Big 3 coaches in LSU. The AP voters know that this is not a Top 25 team.
Last year's team was better. The program has regressed from last year.

Chin, do me a favor and shut the frick up. Jonnny Jones was a piece of shite coach and tore down LSU basketball.
Johnny was a mediocre player, a horrendous coach, and complicit in the draconian sanctions dropped on LSU because he didn’t give a frick about his alma mater— only advancing his own career at the time
