On Kelvin Sampson’s most recent coach’s show he said that he told his strength coach to not replicate the best basketball programs but to go see what Alabama and LSU are doing for football.

Sampson would have given any strength coach those same marching orders. It’s that culture. His program has been the same each year there, but with progressively better athletes, yet still no highly regarded recruiting classes.

the lack of toughness was glaring, our guards were our best rebounders and you could forget any inside defensive presence or rim protection. Outside of a few blocks by Reed there was next to none.

Even CMM acknowledged it - Wright said in one post-game interview that CMM told them they were not tough enough...at the time they ranked 302 in the country in rebounding and had the 21st tallest roster in the country.

So the first way to solve that is recruiting/portal but yeah some help from your strength and conditioning staff sure would not hurt.

Chest might be able to become that guy. He's a high motor worker type player and looks to have a good frame on him. Hoping he gets that some kind of physical development that reed got over the off-season.

Also Let's get Ward on a bulking diet!
