Nikita missed the 85 86 season then came back for the 86 87 season. He would have played center in the 86 run to the final four. Ricky Blanton replaced him and did a great job against some pretty good centers. William Bedford, John Salley and Kenny Walker. But LSU couldn't get past Never Nervous Pervis in the final four. I went to the Purdue game that first round at the Assembly Center. It was a Thursday night game. And that Saturday against Memphis State was a classic. Dana Kirk bitched and bitched how that 6 foot 7 boy whooped up on his seven foot center, LMAO. I didn't even watch the second half, I paced the outside corridor until the place started rocking and people came storming out the arena. I was high fiving people I didn't know and didn't even know what happened until I got to my seat and my cuz was standing there with this faraway absent gaze on his face like a 14 year old kid who just lost his virginity. When we left the Assembly Center, there was this older woman who was a Memphis fan and she was bickering with this dude who was around his late 20's and an LSU fan. She had to have been 60 or older and was cussing the Preacher man Dale and telling the LSU fan how we will see how it feels when we had to play Georgia Tech on their home floor. I suppose she was still pissed when LSU beat Ga Tech the next week.
