Tell me why you chose to post a bunch of negative stats (besides Jacoby) if you're not trying to be negative? We don't need stats to know we've slowed down slightly; but it's baseball, it happens

Cause I was bored at work. Knowledge is power my friend.

Grounded into Double Plays - 36 (7 in the last 8 games)

Know who grounds into a lot of double plays? Good teams that have a ton of baserunners. One of the unfortunate byproduct of a high OBP is there are so much more opportunities for the other team to pull a double play. Bad teams don't hit into a lot of double plays because they don't have that many chances to. Grounding into a DP at a rate of under one a game when you get on a .394 clip is actually pretty good. Know who leads the league in fewest GIDP? Tennessee. Yeah, there's an offense we want to emulate.

Same with stolen bases. There is almost no correlation between stealing lots of bases and scoring lots of runs. None. So, I don't worry about it. We're middle of the pack in steals and it doesn't bother me at all. The team's not totally station to station, which is good, but I don't really care about steals all that much, unless we can suddenly turn into Vanderbilt.

I would like to see the homers turn around. Hoping its just a blip. It happens, but also, we shouldn't be standing around waiting for the longball. We lead the SEC in total bases -- we should find other ways to drive in runs.

Rather get a full back tat of Harvey Updike with "Roll Damn Tide" under it than talk baseball with tadelatt.

Your stats are accurate, your paranoia is misplaced. . . 40-6!

My paranoia? What is with everyone?

do people just read things real quick and immediately jump to conclusions? I am just posting stats that I haven't seen on here to discuss. I am def the LAST person to panic.

shite, I am one of the founding members of Team Jacoby. You know, when he was still hitting sub .200?

I feel we have 3-4 guys who can go yard on any swing. Everyone else the vest we can ask for is a double.

SB - 13 in April. Wow! With all the speed we have, we only have 13 SB in the month of April. That needs to change, fast. Less Hit and Run and more SB. (Only 2 in the past 5 games)

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that we probably don't steal much on the midweek games, given the inferior talent. Again, I could be wrong, since I don't usually have time to watch the midweek games but that is just a guess.

Furthermore, break that down into 4 weekend series for April, that is more than 1 per game. Not horrible.

LOB - 33 over the past four games. If you don't include the McNeese State Game and just look at the USC series, it is 26

No doubt, LSU had a bad series. This does happen. The season is wearing on them a bit, and they may be trying to do too much. But CPM will have them ready for Regionals.

I was until the Saturday game against South Carolina when we had 7 leadoff hitters get on base but never produced anything. We stranded way too many players on 1st base that game.
