Amirite?

We'll look back on this weekend and laugh in the Regionals in May.

Amirite again?

We have 3 of our 6 best pitchers out with injuries.

This has led to us having atrocious starting pitching, but a great bullpin.

As those guys return from injury, we will get stronger and stronger, much how this year's d-line got better as the season went on when Herron and Key came back.

This is baseball, relax. Things will get better.

I would be willing to bet the majority of people complaining about this weekend have no clue who AJ Labas is.

I would be willing to bet that the majority of people NOT complaining about this weekend don't go to the games.

That and they don’t really understand baseball enough. I totally understand that we shite the bed this weekend but I have confidence that we will look like a different team come mid season. Not saying we could be true contender this year but that is definitely still yet to be determined.

We should all know not to melt this early by now. Hell last year we needed a huge comeback to beat a much worse team than ND in the opener with Lange pitching

No. Blame this downward spiral on Orgeron and Alleva. And King. ND has gone straight in with no lube on LSU this past year.

Too early to worry. This was no worse than a mid week loss to Lamar.

no one in college baseball simply "reloads". we come as close as anybody else tho. baseball is just so heavily dependent on pitching and that is very hard to just "reload" with the draft and with schollie limits.

It was an ugly series by just about every measurement in baseball. But it's not a good indicator of things to come in the season. Baseball always takes a while to get rolling, plus there are a lot of new faces.

One thing I think is a bit under played is the fact that you have 4 infielders that were short stops coming in. You're going to have mental mishaps until they all get in a grove of NOT playing shortstop. Yes, Smith made some inexcusable errors, but he's also taking on a new roll as the leader of the team. That's a tough spot to fill.

Starting pitching was atrocious, but again, new rolls for these guys. Gilbert, although he was lights out in the CWS last year, was a midweek guy. Peterson (who I don't think will hold on to his starting roll for very long) and Hess were both bullpen guys last season. It's a pretty big mental adjustment going from the pen to starting. Again, give it time for these kids to settle in.
