Of all of our former players it looks like DJ LeMahieu will have the most successful professional career. I think he needs to be on the list!

Joey Belle. LSU didn't start becoming a Baseball power until he arrived.

Albert Belle would be a hall of fame player if the media didn't hate him and back injuries didn't cut his career short. From 1991-2000, he averaged 37 homeruns, 38 2Bs, 120 RBIs, and hit .298. He finished top 10 in MVP voting 5 times (was completely robbed in 1995), was an AS 5 times, and won 5 silver sluggers. He easily had the most impressive MLB career of any LSU player.
And I would argue Aaron Nola and Alex Bregman could both very well have better MLB careers than LeMaheiu.

this baw had a decent 13-yr MLB career and played in more games than any other LSU player (1559). He hit for the cycle several times (career BA .266). Hill was either "en fuego" or he just disappeared. DJ (BA .300) will pass many of Hill's career numbers in the next several years.

Brian Wilson did decent in the MLB for a little while.
Not statue worthy but man, that beard was nice...

Don't do a specific player. Do a play - like the statue of the blocked punt outside the Superdome.
The play to do is, of course, the Morris home run.
That play represents the greatness of LSU Baseball more than any specific player.

It should be Alvin Dark. He played for 14 years in MLB and had a career average of .289. He appeared as a player in three World Series. He was a MLB manager from 1961-1977. He won the NL pennant with the Giants and won the World Series as manager of Oakland in 1974. He is an obvious first choice.

Skip Bregman or Alex Bertman

When one surveys our baseball history it is overwhelming how many great players and performances there have been. Don't even know where to start TBH.
