Also as far as Drost, I agree he needs to be more patient. Kid is a true free swinger and doesn’t work counts and may not know how.

He might strike out a lot this year but when Eddie Smith gets his claws sunk into him he’s going to turn into a monster.

Drost is going to hit his way into figuring it out, you can live with that. He isn’t overwhelmed like say Thompson has been

Nah, he’s not that bad. But .230-.250 maybe. Has a lot of swing & Miss to him

Thompson has a BABIP of .063 and K rate of 23.3%.
I would expect that both of those increase over the course of the season. We knew going in he'd take longer to come around with the bat. We know he can hit the ball hard though when he makes contact.

Yeah, as pitching competition gets better. I think Thompson will also improve, but not at the same rate the competition steps up.
