I've never seen an LSU baseball player get the love that Mikie got in his last game at The Box.
I can only hope we get to give him an ovation when he trots out to CF there in February. Yet at the same time, I want him to get everything he deserves from the Rays.
Me neither. But I am a season ticket holder and that moment when CPM took him out during the last home game was pretty awesome!

Sorry to lose Cave, but I think we all knew that was coming. Especially after the season he had in Summer Ball.
Less than an hour left on the clock re: Mikie. Not expecting much, but keeping fingers crossed anyway.

so the guy right behind mikie (also from the rays) got about 965k... I figured Mikie would draw 1.2-1.5 depending on how much he could strong arm before this draft started. 45 minutes and counting

I've hear he is asking for around 1.2 million.

They haven't signed 4 of their top 9 picks yet

Very definitely a class move on CPM's part.

Good for Cave, but imho he played this all wrong. He showed his cards early and often, really made this easy for the Yanks. Don't get me wrong, 825K is nothing to sneeze at, but also not life-changing money by any means (especially after taxes).

But they still have a first rounder ahead of Mikie (Taylor Guerreri, RHP, #24) that they haven't signed yet, either.

Cave was a 6th round pick, not bad money at all.

I mean, he got $825K when the next highest bonus in that round was $250K. Sounds like he made out fine.

so does he stick to his price or does he take the offer?

I have a good friend that I tailgate with who's a very successful financial advisor, and he told me that von Rosenburg and Colvin were chumps to sign for the money they signed for. Especially when taking taxes into account.

If your family's not hurting, then no, $825,000 before taxes isn't life-changing. A dollar doesn't go nearly as far as it did even 10 years ago, you know.
