Why?
if he had a contract of representation with this guy we would all know. plus he would have ZERO leverage with the Rays. its possible he has Landry in some advisory capacity though.

I'm well aware of the guy. but I don't think mikie has a contract with him. he wouldn't be that foolish.

Landry is part of CAA sports, who has over 650 clients in different sports, including a huge baseball roster (Derek Jeter, Buster Posey, Ryan Howard, Mark Buerhle, Roy Halladay, Grady Sizemore, Ryan Braun, Dan Haren, etc).

Which is probably why he feels he can pro bono Mikie. And if by some odd chance Mikie doesn't sign, the relationship is in place for next year, anyway.

Yep, sounds like they will pull this out till the last minute. Our only hope is they just don't give MM what he wants.

Mainieri says its a possibility he comes back. If this guy was already his agent there would be no possibility of Mikie coming back. (I don't think he is...)

I've never seen an LSU baseball player get the love that Mikie got in his last game at The Box.
I can only hope we get to give him an ovation when he trots out to CF there in February. Yet at the same time, I want him to get everything he deserves from the Rays.

I think there is a pretty decent chance that Mahtook is going to have to make a decision for very close to the same amount that he already turned down.
The question is whether or not Mahtook is bluffing.
