I expect this team to do well.

Having said that, I also expect we will not go undefeated this season and may even lose a midweek game or two..or three. I'm almost positive we will lose an SEC game here and there.

The expectations are so high, as gauged by this thread, it's going to be difficult for there not to be even more outrage when an LSU player strikes out with the bases loaded or hits into a double play to end a promising inning.

If only Mainieri would tell the players not to do those things....

that Hess is going to take a major step forward; however, I don't see why everyone is absolutely convinced that's going to be the case. He was extremely inconsistent last year.
He was asked to carry a mediocre team. Look at how he did for team USA and this fall.

Weren't his outings for team USA (and for LSU during the fall) just limited to a few innings? I could be wrong, but I don't ever think he threw more than 4 innings at one time. Most outings for Team USA were about 2-4 innings if I remember correctly. I'm actually hopeful he can put it all together; I'm just not as optimistic as the rest of the board.

eta: He threw a total of 9 innings across 3 games, and did well, but wasn't really used as a traditional starter.

Hess actually pitched great the first 5 weeks of the SEC last year and then hit a wall.

At the same time he got 0 offense on Friday's and was living pitch by pitch which is no way to get in a groove.

Another year under his belt and a much better offense should calm the nerves, he's gotta pitch to contact though to an extent.

I don't have an exact answer. I think there is a high probability of an Omaha run, but not guaranteed.
Again I think there are a few questions that need to be answered to see how these holes are filled.

Your exact words were "I have a feeling this team will disappoint... I just don't see it." Then you say some bullshite like this:
quote:

I think there is a high probability of an Omaha run
And act like those aren't the exact same expectations of just about everyone else. So what exactly don't you see if you think this team is likely to get to Omaha?

fricking hypocrite.

Nobody was getting passed them.

Adley Rutschman is crazy good.

He's like what people think Pap was, but only in their head.

I really like Dugas. Before he got a concussion in the summer he was hitting close to .400 and was stealing over 1 base per game. His K rate was a little high but he was putting up video game numbers. Beloso was as well.

I agree 100% on Dugas, I realize the upperclassmen returning but was hoping Dugas could play some in midweek games maybe at 3rd or 2nd base.

let me rephrase dickhead... Omaha is a possibility, if everything comes together and no major injuries. I think #1 pre season ranking with the holes is a little high

No matter how many times you try to twist and turn what you said, it's still not going to sound any less stupid.

You haven't mentioned any real holes on this team. Have you compared them to other teams around the top 10 to see if they don't have "holes"? In other words, who should be ranked ahead of LSU and why?

You've come a long way from "I have a feeling this team will seriously disappoint. Everyone else is getting g giddy like kids at Christmas, I just don’t see it".

Why don't you tell us who belongs ahead of us in the polls and where we belong?

He asked you a question...what are the glaring holes on this team?
