as much as I enjoy college baseball and pay attention to the Tigers during the regular season I really should know more about recruiting.
I'm the same way.

i read an article on Cecchini earlier today from the LC newspaper and it stated that he has been getting calls from teams saying that he is projected from rounds 1-4. He also said that unless he gets "life changing" money, he will be attending LSU. He enjoys playing the game and wants to have a college experience while doing it........take that for what its worth because ZVR said the samething and he took off

Anybody related to baseball is going to tell you he's a top 100 prospect for sure, but the #1 issue in what determines one's draft stock in baseball is signability.

With Cecchini, I wouldn't get my hopes up with him coming to LSU because he is the highest rated infielder to come out of the state since Ryan Adams (06) who went in the second round.

Would in fact contend for a starting position immediately somewhere in the infield if he in fact puts on purple and gold.

also said that he would most likely move to 3rd, 2nd, or leftfield because of his size (6'2" or 6'3") he said he was able to get away playing SS at that height in HS but wont be able to do it at the next level

I am pretty sure that Marcus Davis is good friends with Spencer Ware, the football recruit.

Is Davis projected as an early round pick?

Davis reminds me alot of Jared Mitchell minus the football. Natural 5 tool player, his greatest aspect is speed. He's 6-3 190 but he has more room to fill out and get stronger. He does need to work on his swing a bit, but has plenty of time to improve on that.

He's going to receive interest from scouts anywheres from the 5-20th rounds I'd say. Strong commit to LSU because of the Spencer Ware factor.

ZVR got the most money outside of the first round, so if he did say he'd be here unless he got life changing money, he didn't lie. $1.2MM is "life-changing" money. At least it is for me, maybe you're a little more fortunate.

He (CECCHINI) most likely played with Vanrosenberg in H S.
Who is Mitch Hopkins and where did he play H S ball?

I don't think he actually played HS ball with him (prob played summer ball with him though), but he probably knows him. ZVR was only at Barbe for his frosh year, when Cecchini was in 8th grade, but Cecchini's dad has been at Barbe for a while I think.

Mitch Hopkins went to U-High and is a relief pitcher, tall lanky kid, who according to some on here, throws low 90s

ETA: Hopkins is around 6'3" 175

Mitch Hopkins is 6'3" - 185 lbs. He has plenty room to fill out, but can already over power at times. Consistant 92-93 mph. This kid gets stronger each inning, better in the starter role.:

yeah, they def know one another.

this Cecchini kid has been a bat boy at Barbe since 1999 at least, until he was obviously old enough to play. I remember watching him throw the ball around as a 7 or 8 year old before games at the State tournament
