said UNO Athletic director Derek Morel, “however, the overwhelming interest in our home opener versus LSU and the desire to ensure a perfect grand opening of our new facility brought us to the opportunity to partner with the Zephyrs organization on this landmark event.

i still don't get how a game at another stadium ensures a "perfect grand opening.

Because UNO will make 90% of their money for the season on that one game

its BS PR spin. BTW Mainieri is livid that the game got moved to Zephyr and apparently he and the UNO AD had words over it. But at the same time its sorta his fault. Never should have scheduled the game to begin with.

If this is true, then I can't imagine LSU ever having any type of working relationship with UNO again as long as the same AD is there. You just don't do that to a team that went out of their way to help your program out.

Pathetic.

The AD is a dumbass if it's true. He's basically sacrificing a great relationship that could help bring that program out of the ashes for a one-time $30,000 injection of cash. PM has every right to say FU after trying to help them out so much.

@KendallRogersPG: Goodness, the @SEC West is a beast in baseball again this year. Pretty much a tossup in the 2-6 spots in the division.

So I'm guessing LSU is #1 and the others can just fight behind us?

i wonder who he assumes is #7? Auburn or Missouri.

either way i'd put both of those schools in a lower tier. i disagree that 2-6 are interchangeable. I could maybe understand 2-5 though i dont really agree with that either.

He won't be the only one that will have them ranked ahead of us. It won't finish that way though.
